Happy happy Thursday!
This week, we’ve: stayed in our pajamas, watched an insane amount of Christmas movies, almost finished our puzzle (I’m bound and determined), cooked a lot of food for our Christmas celebrations coming up this weekend, visited North Park one last time while it’s still decorated, looked at lights and we’ve been on a carriage ride…it’s been a great week!
We have been excited about this past Tuesday night for about six weeks now…we went on a carriage ride through Highland Park!! As a North Texas girl, this is something I’ve always wanted to do, so this year…Erika and I decided to make it happen for our families. AND IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!! I’m hoping we do it again next year too!
We kicked off our night with yummy Mexican food…but I did not document that. I took my first picture (above) as we were walking to meet up with the carriage. These four kids were so excited!!
Eeeeeks! How fun, right?! The carriage had plenty of room for all of us. Picture, take one.
Take two!
As you can see, sweet Ashby was feeling good and ready to go. We have her coat on top of her sling to keep her warm.
I think Erika and I were just as excited as the kids!
Sweet Madeley. She pointed to every house we went by. She had the BEST time too!
A row of boys sat behind me…
…and a row of girls sat in front.
On my row was the sweetest little two year old I know (and a handsome hubby too!).
The carriage ride was an hour around Highland Park and it couldn’t have been more fun! The weather was perfect for this (no wind or rain!).
A very successful framily night out!
Love these people so much.
And then last night, we headed over to North Park in Dallas to see the lights and eat dinner there one last time…
As we were walking in, I realized both of my big girls had their purses. #likemotherlikedaughter #whendidtheygetsobig
A Shull Six selfie 🙂
There are two sections of puppet shows and those are always a hit with my kids!
We love looking at the gingerbread houses. This year’s theme was a British Christmas, so all of the buildings were from London.
It’s funny to me how my kids kind of naturally pair off. Typically, Ashby and Smith do things together and Kensington and Madeley do. Madeley is OBSESSED with Kensington (and vice versa!). Kensington had been pushing her in the stroller and was tilting it back to kiss her. Madeley was loving it!
Dinner with this handsome guy…
…and this handsome guy (and cute/silly kids) too.
So, tonight, we’re hosting Christmas for my family and then tomorrow, Andrew’s parents arrive. I’ve got to go…I have to get ready to PARTY! Enjoy your Thursday!!

gosh! can you believe there are only four more {official} days of listening to christmas music? our target has had christmas stuff on clearance for over a week. i just feel so rushed! i want it to all just slow down.
but the real thing i have on my mind: what do K and A carry in their purses? i’m thinking a winter break special edition guest post with photos is a fantastical idea. maybe there is something missing from my purse that i must add!
today is our last day of school for 2016 and i cannot wait until 2:56pm when school is done until monday january 9th!
thank you for sharing your christmas cheer. i am so looking forward to hearing how your kids lost their minds when they found out about nyc in the winter??!!?!!!

Looks like fun! But I have to ask – is it really that cold down in Texas to warrant winter jackets, hats and scarves? I live in Canada and I’ve always assumed Texas was warm all year round 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
It was down in the teens last week (with a windchill one day of 9!). So, no, it’s not Canadian weather, but even weather in the 30s and 40s is cold with the wind!
