Confession: if I’m going to eat a turkey burger it needs a ton of flavor. Turkey burgers can be amazing…or they can be dry and boring. So…I always jazz mine up. Today’s burger has spinach and feta cheese inside plus, I topped it with roasted cherry tomatoes. Yum, yum, YUM. No boring turkey burger here!
This recipe makes four half-pound burgers.
Shopping List
2 pounds of ground turkey
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), divided
1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning
salt and pepper, divided
1 (10 oz) box of frozen spinach, thawed and all excess water squeezed out
about 2 cups of crumbled feta cheese
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 pints of cherry tomatoes
4 burger buns
2 pounds of ground turkey
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), divided
1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning
salt and pepper, divided
1 (10 oz) box of frozen spinach, thawed and all excess water squeezed out
about 2 cups of crumbled feta cheese
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 pints of cherry tomatoes
4 burger buns
Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high heat.
Add about 3 tablespoons of EVOO, poultry seasoning, and a good pinch of both salt, pepper to your ground turkey. Next, add in your spinach, one cup of feta and chopped garlic. Divide turkey into four sections and make four patties. Grill patties about 8 minutes per side or until cooked through.
Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
Line a cooking sheet with foil and dump your tomatoes down on top. Drizzle a liberal amount of EVOO on top of your tomatoes followed by a big pinch of both salt and pepper. Pop your tomatoes in the oven to roast for about 15 minutes. They’ll burst as they roast up. Remove the tomatoes and reserve when they’re done.
To build your burger, add your cooked burger patty to your burger bun and then top with roasted tomatoes and crumbles of your remaining feta.
I mean…so good, right? Not another boring turkey burger!

I’ve never had a turkey burger before, but this seems like the perfect way to take away the dryness. I’d skip the feta though because of personal preferences!
