It’s the last Friday in September!

I mean…where does the time go?!  I feel like fall is flying by.  This gets me all sorts of panicky and in need of a pumpkin spice latte because before I know it, they’ll be gone.  #eeeeeks

We have a super fun weekend planned because it’s the Shull Six plus Samuel!  Woohoo!!  We have Samuel for three nights, and we are so excited!  If you’re looking for us, we’ll be over at my house fighting over his attention. #madeleyalwayswins

Two quick things about Wednesday’s post: First, thank you so much for sending Mimi birthday wishes!  When I talked to her that day, she said it made her so happy!  And second, thank you so much for all of the allergy advice.  I’m on new eye drops now and eating local organic honey thanks to you guys.  If you missed that part, click HERE and read the comment section.  Allergy sufferers unite!

It was meant for me 🙂 .  And random…but this top I’m wearing…

…is still in stock.  This is me back at the beginning of September, and I’ve worn that exact outfit three times since (most recently, on Wednesday).  This top just looks like fall without being heavy and warm.  It comes in two other pretty colors too.  And GOOD NEWS!!!  My mustard scarf is back in stock 🙂 .  Hurry!  It went out of stock quickly earlier this month.

And speaking of scarves…

…yesterday, I was planning on wearing my sleeveless black top with this scarf, but it was raining and in the 60s, so I threw my jacket on top too.  I just love this scarf 🙂 .  And my leopard booties are from last season from Boden.  So, I met Sheaffer at the mall for lunch after this and as we were leaving, we walked past this jacket…

 

…and Sheaffer said “that’s so you” and you know what?  She was right.  #sheaffertoldmeto  You can see it HERE.  Also, it was sized really big.  I typically buy a small with this brand, but I had to size down to an xxsmall (yes, two xx).  So, I would absolutely think you would need to as well.

 

Andrew surprised me this week with a Maple Pecan Latte from Starbucks.  He came home unexpectedly with it on Wednesday afternoon and was kind of like “I saw this new latte and either it’s fantastic or I screwed up and should have ordered you a PSL instead”…the verdict was…it was delicious!!!  If you’re not a pumpkin person (and honestly, I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t be), this would be a great fall Starbucks option for you.  PS: please note how crazy messy my desk is in the background.  Ha!  I spend my afternoons toggling between recipes, blog writing and booking vacations.  It’s so much fun 🙂 .

One of the last things Manda talked to her dad about was that she wanted him to start a foundation to help other mothers who are fighting cancer with young children.  The Manda Strong Foundation is helping moms in Collin County (where we live here in North Texas) who have aggressive cancer and young kiddos at home.  On November 11, we are having our first 5K and Fun Run and if you’re local, we would love for you to attend!!  It’s going to be a morning for the whole family: face painting, bounce houses, music, prizes…and so much more!  You can sign up HERE and learn more about the Manda Strong Foundation HERE.

 

How beautiful are these books?!  And you know what’s even more beautiful than the covers?  What’s inside.  So, you guys all know my friend Melanie Shankle (a.k.a. Big Mama) who is the author of books like Sparkly Green Earrings and Nobody’s Cuter Than You.  Well, on Tuesday, her newest book and Bible study come out and friends, YOU NEED THEM!  Church of the Small Things is a book about finding joy/contentment/peace right where you are in life (even if your life seems so ordinary, boring and uneventful).  Melanie just has this way where she can speak right to your heart.  She’s funny, witty, sincere, challenging, accepting and empathetic all at the same time.  This book will bless you.  I promise.  And if you want to take it a step further, you can order her Bible study and DVD as well.  Need something for your quiet time?  This is it.  Order those things HERE.  In fact, let me be honest…you should just add all of her books to your cart and hit “submit”…you will be thankful you did.  They are great books to gift as well.  (Hello, Christmas!)  I just love me some Big Mama!

…I mean, that’s cute, right?!  I just love me some Etsy 🙂 .

And speaking of tops I love…

…if you missed this top on Wednesday’s post, here it is again.  The sleeves are my favorite part.  Flats, jeans, cute top and a necklace and my uniform is on.  (By the way, I’ve had these leopard flats for three years now and they are still my faves!)  This top is also available in three other colors.

    You hit the nail on the head with the maple pecan latte! I don’t care for pumpkin (although this is the first year I tried my husband’s PSL and didn’t think it was disgusting) and I LOVE the maple pecan! Delish!

    Have you ever tried the Starbucks medicine ball???? I was sick with allergies and heard about it so I bought one and had 4 in two days! Cleared me right up!! Some Starbucks don’t know the recipe so google it before you go but I think you will like it 🙂

    I really didn’t have many allergies until I hit my 30’s. Now I have accumulated a LOT of allergies. A few years ago I was constantly sick with sinus infections and finally saw an Allergist and out of the 25 things they test you for, I was allergic to 23. Trees, GRASS, Animals, you name it, I’m allergic to it! I will say that Allergy shots help SO Much!! I still can’t mow my own grass without my airways closing up, so there’s that. But bi-weekly shots make my allergies manageable. I highly recommend finding a good Allergist and getting tested.

    Hi Shay, hopefully you see this. I stopped by TJ’s today and they had some super yummy pumpkin bagels toasted with pumpkin whipped cream. It was delicious and I know of your love of pumpkin and thought you’d want to know. They also had the cutest Haunted House Chocolate Cookie Kit to put together (aka Halloween version of the gingerbread house). My friend has it and it is really cute. Enjoy!
