Happy Friday from Manhattan, Kansas!!

The Shull six drove up here last night and are going to spend the day hanging out around K-State before watching the Wildcats play TCU tomorrow.  The last time we were at a K-State game was three years ago…and we only had two kids 🙂 .  Can I just say that it’s way more fun now that we have four?  We can’t wait to brainwash these four into wanting to go to K-State like their dad and uncle 🙂 .

Okay, just like every Friday, today, I’m linking up with three of my besties, Andrea, Erika and Narci and sharing my favorite things from this week.  I have a fun mix, so I hope you enjoy them!  Happy Friday from me to YOU!

A very, very, very popular question these days: Where did you get your phone case?  Ah!  I got it HERE.  A new case just jazzes up your old phone, right?  And because I multi-task waaaaaay too much, I’ve already dropped the darn thing at least 20 times and my phone hasn’t cracked.  Bam.

And here’s another pic of my phone case and those fun earrings…

…along with that fall scarf I love so much!

Okay, remember my jack-o-lantern tee from last year?  I can think of three events that I wore it too but for some reason, only found this pic.  That being said, I saw that they were back in stock this year along with so many other cute Halloween tees!  I loved it last year and thought it deserved to be a favorite this year too.  Please ignore the pic where you can barely see it and just appreciate how cute and sweet my friends are 🙂 .  They’re a favorite too!  Besides the jack-0-lantern, they have several other really cute Halloween tees too!

 

Okay, in keeping with the theme “things you can barely see”…I meant to take a pic of this flannel button-up because it’s so soft and I adored wearing it…

…but I didn’t.  Sigh.  Ask me why I can’t take a picture of it today?  Because it’s still in the hamper.  Sigh again.  It’s soft and comfy and will be worn a million times this fall…because you know, I love me a good flannel button up 🙂 .

And then I know everyone else has been buying these Nickel & Suede Earrings for a long time.  I know that I’m the last person on Earth to wear them.  But you know what?  I ADORE THEM!  They are seriously SO LIGHT that I don’t even know they’re in.  If you’ve read this blog for long, you know that I have sensitive earring holes thanks to one particular pair of earrings that I mistakenly wore a few years ago.  These earrings though are my new favorite go-tos.  Mine are considered the “small” size and I bought the “copper leather” color.  Love, love, love them.  (And I love me some Catherine too!)

Okay, so I read about this Evernote app in a magazine last week and decided to try it.  Am I the last person to know about this too?  #probably

This app is a place to create different notes and store different images/websites/info.  So, I’ve only been using it a little while but I love it!  I can make a list and then insert an image, a web address, etc right into my note.  If any of you use it too, please share!  I would love to know more about how you use it to stay organized.  I did the tutorial it offers you when you first open it up, but I’m sure there is way more to learn.  Call me type-A, but I love things like this 🙂 .

 

I found the coziest top to wear around town.  Let’s be honest, I’m really into tops that are basically sweatshirts but a wee bit fancier.

It’s fleece.

I mean…isn’t that perfect?!  It’s just the softest little top that I bought in gray (it comes in 8 colors total).

And look how cute the sleeves are 🙂 .  I paired it with some jeans I bought last year and those new little flat booties that I have been wearing just about every day.  The booties come in four colors and I bought “gravel”.  My jeans are not in stock, but I thought these were really similar and at a GREAT price!

    I need to check out that app! I’ve looked into an app that can help me keep track of a whole slew of random things before so maybe this is it? Sounds like it might come in handy when I come up with an idea for a Christmas gift for someone on my list and don’t want to forget what it is or where to find it! Y’all have fun this weekend!!     What a fun weekend!!! Question – do you guys stay in Airbnb’s now or just get a suite in a hotel?! We are a family of five and I always struggle with that!! We’ve had some fantastic Airbnb experiences, but some friends of mine have not, so I’m always weary.

    Love the cashmere sweater, too!! Looks like I have some shopping to do haha!!

    We are rode tripping to Manhattan this weekend too! My husband is a huge KState fan, but I am an OKState grad. We’ve never taken our 3 boys to a game up there, but this is the weekend! Maybe we will run into you! Have fun 🙂

    I’d love to see you utilize the video aspects of social media to show the in-process steps of your recipe completions. Y’all seem to be on the go & eat out a lot. But the videos could teach readers how you actually do it all & eat your recipes/meal plans as a family.

    Evernote is my go-to app for saving random thoughts, PDFs, and keeping lists. How are you just now hearing about it???? 😉 Your fleece top looks super comfy … we’re back to 80 degrees in Austin this weekend and I’m dying to break out my fall and winter stuff. Come on cooler weather!

    I’ve been using Evernote for at least the last two years. I keep everything on there and I love that I can add notes/updates while I’m on my computer and have it available on my phone when I need it. I use it for silly stuff like present lists that I don’t want my kids to see, pictures of the toothpaste I like (because I always buy the wrong flavor by mistake), to my medical history (when the drs office asks the last time I had some random test). It will become your best friend!

    We’ve been using Evernote for a few years now and it has helped so much. We get reimbursed for work expenses, insurance payments, and our HSA and it helps us keep track. We have several different files, but I have now gotten into the habit of taking a picture of my receipt (you have to let it hover over the receipt for it to be a clear pic) every time I leave a dr.’s office or a store with a work expense. My husband and I both have it, so he is able to have copies of my receipts as soon as I save it. It has also allowed us to cut down on clutter since we can now throw the receipts away! (And I always put a check on the receipt to let myself know I’ve recorded it if I have other purchases on it as well.) Hope that helps someone else, too! It’s been a real game changer for us.

      I keep going to Gap hoping to find things I love…but so far, nothing. Typically, I love their fall stuff…but I haven’t lately. I’m hoping their next batch of Christmas stuff will be super cute!!!

    Thanks for asking your readers about Evernote. I feel like I am fairly good with understanding instructions but couldn’t really understand Evernote when I tried it a couple of years ago. I hope someone can explain it easier than the how-to videos that I have watched.

    I use my Notes section in my IPhone for all of the information you guys mentioned below. How will this app be different in that regard? Thanks! 🙂

      As you write a note, you can insert links and images too. So, if I’m making Smith’s Christmas list, I can write stuff but then snap pics with my phone and add them to his note.

    I love evernote! they also sell notepads/journals that you can write in and sync it with your digital app.

    as for your earring issue. I used to LOVE wearing dangly (read: heavy) earrings and I started using this product called Lobe Wonder https://www.amazon.com/Lobe-Wonder-Support-Patches-Earrings/dp/B001ET77GQ they also sell it at Claire’s, but its a clear sticker you put on the back of your year and you stick the earring through it and it supports the weight of the earring so it doesn’t tear your ear lobe! Works Wonders!!

    I’m new to the Nickel and Suede bandwagon too but own bronze and champagne in the small. Love them! I will not be surprised if that cozy top lands on my doorstep later this week. I bought the fleece top you recommended last year and love it!

      I buy small tops, so feel they run very true to size. I also wash and dry them a bunch and don’t think they shrink.
