On Sunday night, we went to see Santa Claus!
The kids were PUMPED.
The two boy cousins looked dashing in their Christmas plaid.
Love these two guys!
While we waited in line, Ashby and Samuel picked out their photo package 🙂 .
Madeley and Papa Jay watched the other kiddos talk to Santa. She had been nervous to sit in his lap, but as soon as we got there, she got excited and was ready to go!
Bring on Santa! These guys were ready for him!
And then one big family shot to wrap things up.
With Santa off of our “to do” list, we’re getting so much closer to the BIG day! Where is the month going?!?
Happy Tuesday, friends. xo

Love Kensington’s snowman dress … I collect them so anything snowman catches my eye. You are so blessed! Christmas and Hanukkah will be hard for my family this year. My sister lost her husband to a short painful 3 months of cancer 6 weeks ago. On top of that it’s his birthday today 🙁 . We have a big family like yours who are very close and supportive. I love this family picture!

Praying for your family over this holiday season. It is hard…so glad your family will be supporting each other in love. Hope sweet memories will carry you through this season. BE ENCOURAGED in love & prayers!

They are all wonderful pictures but the last one of the family made me get teary. My BFE gave me a frame that says 4 Generations on it and we were able to get a family shot of all of us before my parents passed away. It isn’t the best picture but it is a treasure for sure. We, like your folks have a daughter and son. Merry Christmas to you and yours dear!

Shay, I love your blog and pictures! I’m a grandmother of 4 and about your mom’s age so I am always very interested in her life and grandmother stuff! How she stays so thin, her daily life, etc.,you know, all the stuff women are interested in. I heard your your sister-in-law talk about her MIL on a podcast and she had so many glowing things to say about her. Would you kindly consider featuring your mom on your blog regularly? Thank you Shay and MERRY CHRISTMAS to your family!!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh! That’s so sweet, Anita. My mom is truly a gem 🙂 . She is also pretty private and does not like the spotlight 😉 . She’s an amazing Lovie to my kiddos!!!

What a great family you have, Shay!
Jen Zimmerman says
Hi! Quick question…I struggle with this every year so curious how others handle it! If you shop for your kids early, how do you handle Santa requests when you see him closer to Christmas? I like to be done shopping by now, but still like to get the fun pictures with Santa in December. But I hesitate to do it because they always change what they tell him they want! 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
We have the kids make a good list by the end of November and work off of that. I always save a little space for last minute ideas, but we really encourage them to think about what they want early 🙂 .
Sandra Schultz says
Love all those pictures! Miss Ashby is growing so beautifully from that first pic of her in China where she looked so sad. That pic broke my heart. Is she a bit shy?
Lizzie @ This Happy Life says

Love all the Santa pictures and how you display all of the past years when you decorate. How is Kensington doing with Santa this year — is she still a firm believer or is she starting to question things? My oldest son is a couple weeks younger than her and he’s really started to ask the serious questions this year.
Mix and Match Mama says
Kensington will believe until she’s 35. Smith has his doubts 😉 .
Lea says
Shay- I love your blog. I started reading it when Sean was on Emily’s season and actually stayed up one night and read the whole thing and I’ve been keeping up ever since. What really got me sucked in all those years ago was how sweet your family is. I love how close you all are- including with both sets of grandparents, your uncle and his family and in laws.
I really hope one day you would write a blog post about what it is that your family did growing up that helped instill those values of family and togetherness in you guys so well that you continue with it as adults.
I know no family is perfect but even before your blog got so big it was obvious how proud you were of your family and how much you all enjoyed each other as a group.
It’s really remarkable and I would love to hear from you more about it!
Diane says
which exact sweater from express did you get? love it
Mix and Match Mama says
I just checked and it’s not there any more. Sorry!
Andrea McAnally says
