It has been a very chill week at the Shull house. Andrew has been out of town since Sunday morning, so it’s been a lot of cozy nights at home. We’ve played games, watched movies and gone to bed early. #amen We’re super pumped to have Andrew back today! Apparently, he is the life of the party 😉 .
On Friday afternoon, I took these three to see The Greatest Showman. My big two went to see it with Erika, and since I really wanted to see it, I thought I’d take the littles. They loved it! We have been singing the songs EVERY time we’ve been in the car. We also love the YouTube clips too! Such a great movie!
Friday night with my peeps! We have a ski shop in town and while Andrew was picking up his snowboard (they were repairing a little section of it), the five of us walked around. PS: My sweater is HERE.
Look who lost her first tooth!!! Sweet Ashby pulled her tooth out during Smith’s basketball game. Ha! She was so proud! I cannot believe our little girl is old enough to be losing teeth. Where did tiny Ashby go?!
Over the weekend, we made Valentine’s Cut Out Cookies. They were fun to make and even more fun to eat. And look at this…
…look at Ashby using her right hand!!! PRAISE JESUS!!! You guys, a year ago, she could not have made a fist, and now, she’s able to hold a spoon with her fingers and actually use it. Sweet Ashby goes through so much, so you just have no idea how much this mama heart gets excited to see progress and know that IT’S ALL WORTH IT! I just LOVE this picture so much!!
I probably sing the song Sisters from White Christmas at least four times a day. I’m not joking. I look at these two and can’t help myself 😉 .
Madeley is in to me putting little braids in her hair these days. She wanted me to take a pic of this one at lunch.
She loves to play blocks with me. She loves even more to hide the blocks I’m looking for under her dress. Bahahahaha!
That’s life lately. xo

Totally random ? but what kind of food do you feed your pups?? I have a 3 month old Coton who’s totally not interested in his food lately unless I add some broth to it ? Also, does your pup bite? Trying everything to get mine to stop! Thanks!!
Mix and Match Mama says
No, she doesn’t bite. Our puppy uses a puppy food from Hollywood Feed.

I love hearing about sweet Ashby, it brings tears to my eyes each time. I grew up with a brother with special needs and I am confident that God chose you to be her mama for a reason. I know you are a blessing to Ashby but I also know how huge a blessing she is and will be on you and your children. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

Shay, I am planning a trip to South Africa in July. Yesterday you mentioned you only plan trips to new clients to certain places. Any reason why? Do you have a recommendation for an agency to help with a trip to SA or a “must” safari lodge to stay at?
Mix and Match Mama says
So that I’m not too busy with new clients that I don’t have time for existing clients. I can only take on so many trips each month (because there is just not enough time to do all of them!), and I would hate to tell an existing client no because I’m too busy with new clients. This helps keep my ratio more even.
Jacki says
This makes so much sense! Cant work all.the.time and not have time for family and enough to give attention to all the clients.
Shay, we as a family are also thinking of going to South Africa in the near future. Any recommendations on where to go and must see places/lodges/hotels?
Mix and Match Mama says
That’s an Andrew question! He’s been three years in a row!! He loves it! Email me and I’ll pass it on to him 🙂 .
Rachelle says
Hi Yvonne,
If you are looking at a safari in Kruger, I highly recommend staying in the park if at all possible. Also consider using a company for your safari, they know where to go, and are in communication with people in the park. Plus in their vehicles you are up high and get to see SO much more.

Wow! What wonderful news that Ashby’s hand and arm treatments are helping and she’s progressing. Praise the good Lord! Always beautiful pics of the kids, and the cookies look delicious. 😉 Also – want to ping you to let you know the Ugg Fitchie wedges you posted about last season are on sale on Nordstrom Rack right now…in case you need more colors.

Ashby…what a precious girl you have there. I love hearing about her. With so much to overcome she always seems to have joy written all over her face. Thank you for sharing her with us!
Kristi says
What do you do on days you don’t work out and don’t get all your steps in? Does it bother you? 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I can always manage to get my steps in, but on days I don’t work out, I don’t let it bother me. I just feel like I’m in a season of life right now where it’s not going to happen as often as perhaps I would like it to. I just try to stay as “active” as I can (playing outside with kids, walking to and from school/etc.).
Angela Ellingson says
So happy for you all about progress with Ashby’s hand! ❤️

I’m thrilled for Ashby and your mama heart, Shay! I noticed she was using her right hand at my first glance of that picture! Yeah! She’s such a brave, sweet girl! I have spent waaaaay too many hours reading adoption and foster care stories and inqueries on your new FB group! Whoa! Who knew there are sooooo many people called to adoption! It takes me back to all we went through 35 years ago. How worth it the journey! We adore our 2 sons! Our family, created through adoption.❤️

Love your weekend on your own. Way to go! I have a question. Is the Greatest Showman appropriate for an almost 6 yr old? She loved Ferdinand, Cocoa, etc. But will this hold her interest? We were leaning towards Peter Rabbit. But I mean get enjoy TGS too. What do you suggest for a fiver old, 6 at the end of March? Thanks in advance Shay. You’re the best!
