It’s PART THREE of our Disney Land & Sea Vacation!
For those of you who are SO OVER the Disney posts…no worries, there isn’t another one until later next week 😉 .
For those of you who love a good travel post, today is a fun one!! We visit the Bahamas and Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). If you missed the other posts, you can see them here:
And now for PART THREE! The funny thing about today’s post is that it covers my least favorite day of the trip (if I was forced to pick one) and my favorite day. Ready, set, go…
We woke up on this day excited about our port in the Bahamas. Two years ago when we did this cruise, our day at the Atlantis Resort was my favorite…this year, the weather was yucky, so it wasn’t exactly my fave. We put on our swimsuits and really tried to make the most of it…but it was raining and chilly most of the day (at one point, it was sideways raining like crazy!). The good news is that it never lightninged, so we didn’t have to leave the pool area completely. Here we are about to go! My hat is HERE.
The kids were SUCH TROOPERS! They jumped into the water and totally made the most of our day! Madeley on the other hand is like “Whoa! It is cold!!”.
Kensington and Ebby Lee didn’t let the weather spoil their fun either.
I’m cold too, Madeley.
At one point, we decided to get dry and warm and have lunch inside the hotel (instead of poolside like we had planned). This was a much needed break from the weather.
And this is the last pic I took there that day. What? I don’t know…it just is. By the last hour, we had rallied a bit. The kids were all sliding and we all got in and did the lazy river. The sun was even peeking out just a bit. It wasn’t ideal, but we tried to make it fun. That’s the thing about traveling, you really have to just roll with it.
After we were done for the day, we headed back to the ship and got ready for dinner.
Crazy fun dinner time!
Tiana’s Place was very Mardi Gras fun! This guy showed up…
…and Miss Britt was not having any. Hahahaha! I love Erika’s face here!
The kids were having so much fun!
Out of all the princesses we met on the ship, Tiana was my favorite. She was just GOOD at being Tiana! She took her time with the kids, she was so attentive, so sweet and just too cute for words.
The kids loved her too!
One of my favorite things was that after dinner, the kids all played in the kids club area and the four adults went to a game night at the British pub on board. We had a blast every night! The lady who hosted the games was just FUN! We would go for about an hour and then grab the kids on our way to that evening’s show. Such a fun time.
The next morning, we woke up in…
…beautiful Castaway Cay! This is Disney’s own private island and it’s spectacular!
This was the view from our balcony.
The weather was sunny and bright…the perfect day for a beach trip!
It was also our 14th wedding anniversary. How can that be?! I couldn’t have celebrated in a more special way. Andrew and I had a blast at Castaway Cay!
Madeley was having a blast on board that morning as we ate breakfast 🙂 .
Smith too. Ha!
Britt was all “look at my cute hat!”. Isn’t she such a doll?!?!
The little tram took us from ship to beach.
Looking back at our ship.
Oh goodness! We were so happy to be there!!
This girl is just so beautiful!
We camped out for the day and loved life!!
This was Madeley’s first time to visit the beach…
…and she was a fan.
The Shull six had the BEST day!! What a wonderful way to celebrate our marriage.
When it was time to get back on the ship, we weren’t quite ready to clean up, so the kids rode the slides on the boat a bit.
I love how Bowen is cheering them on 🙂 .
Then, it was time to get ready for the ship’s Pirate Night! This is so much fun too! So many of the kids and even some adults on board gets involved and dressed up. Plus, the “cast” of the ship is fully decked in pirate gear. Arg!
I bought these pirate costumes online after Halloween when they were much discounted. Isn’t she so cute?!
Our littlest two pirates 🙂 .
Dinner on Pirate Night for us was back at Tiana’s Place but with a completely different menu.
Anniversary dinner plus ten. 🙂
My dress is HERE and comes in other colors.
The great eight on Pirate Night!
After dinner, we went to see the comedian/magician show on board and then it was time for the Pirate Night Party on the top deck. This is always so much fun! At one point, I looked at Andrew and said, “This is why Disney Cruise Line is my favorite”. A huge fun party plus they shoot fireworks off the ship!
All the kids dancing!
Pirate Night ROCKS!
I love that girl back there so much 🙂 .
During the party, the cast comes out and they’re even wearing pirate stuff!
It’s hard to keep that pirate energy up all night long.
It was a magical day.
