We had a super-sized FALL weekend a few days ago! Here are a bunch of pics from all the festivities. I love this time of year so much!!!
On Friday morning, Erika picked us up around 7:30 and we hit the road for Canton, TX! The first Monday weekend of every month, the town hosts a HUGE flea market/trade days type event. We were super excited to go eat something yummy and shop all the fall/Christmas stuff.
We arrived right at 9:15 and were ready for FUN!
I love this girl so much 🙂 . I’ve taken each of my “babies” to Canton, and it’s always so fun. I remember going to Canton when I was a little girl with my mama!
She found a child’s baseball cap and had to have it. She kept telling me how she would wear it to all of Smithy’s football games.
How do you say no?! I didn’t. She is now the proud owner of said baseball cap 😉 .
I looked over and saw her sitting in that chair. She’s such a ham!
For lunch, Madeley and I split this! Fried catfish, hush puppies, coleslaw and potato salad! It was so good!!!
We were having the BEST time in Canton!
We left Canton at 1:00 and got home right at 3:00 (when school ends for the big kids). We cleaned up just a bit and then by 4:30, we were on our town square ready to kickoff Oktoberfest weekend!!
He’s my favorite Oktoberfest partner 🙂 . (Psssst: my sweatshirt is HERE)
We ate dinner and played at The Yard! This is our third time to eat here (it opened in August). Not only do they have amazing food, but they have so much for kids to do right there at the restaurant!
It was such a beautiful night!
Tab was away at a football game in Seattle, but he Face-timed us!
The next day, we hit up the square again, but this time…to soak in every bit of Oktoberfest!!
Our town does it up right!
So much yummy food!
And root beer and beer too!
This kiddo loves root beer!
We loooooove Oktoberfest so much! We arrived at 3:30 and stayed about five hours!
Our town has the best ski shop! It’s open only during ski season, so we popped in to say hi and check it out now that they’ve re-opened for the season.
We bought a bag of popcorn to take home. We love the McKinney Mix which combines white cheddar, jalapeno and caramel corn. YUM!
Our friends own Play Street Museum on Wheels, so we stopped to say hi! They were all set up at Oktoberfest!
My sweet friend AnnMarie owns it 🙂 .
We let them ride a ton of rides…
…and we enjoyed watching 🙂 .
That’s my two bigs up there!
Ashby and Kensington loved the ponies too!
Gosh, I love my town 🙂 .
At one point, we ran into the Slaughters. These two…
…best friends forever.
At one point, I looked over and Andrew was talking with helium in his mouth and cracking these kids up!
We ate dinner at our favorite pub and then followed it up with pretzels (and more root beer) and crepes!
We love you McKinney, TX!!!
Oktoberfest #1 in the books! One more to go 🙂 .
