Let it Snow!

Happy Monday, everyone!

So, we had the BEST little weekend because it started with my two big girls singing in their elementary school talent show!

I told you guys this back in the fall, but friends, I was REALLY nervous about this school year.  I was nervous for Ashby to start kindergarten.  I just didn’t know how she would do academically, verbally, socially…plus, add on her disability and I was really kind of a mess about the whole thing.  PLUS, I shared with you that Kensington had a really rough year last year because she was just so shy that it affected her at school.  This mama had some anxiety and worries but friends, it has been the BEST year!

Every year our school has the cutest talent show where one night, you come and watch the kiddos all showcase a variety of fun acts (magicians, dancers, singers, hoola hoopers, and so much more!).  This year, Kensington and Ashby asked if they could sing a song together.  My mama heart about burst!  They wanted a winter song, so they selected Let it Snow and sang it a cappella.  I will try and post it in my Insta Stories later today because it was too cute for words!  Here are some pics from Friday night…

All dressed and ready to go!  I bought them these snowflake dresses off of Amazon along with snowflake head boppers 🙂 .

Little sis was proud and wanted in the pic too!

Then, I was standing in my room and saw this whole thing go down.  I am so glad I documented it. Hahahaha…

Madeley: Ashby, I want a kiss! (Look how puckered her lips were!)

Madeley: Ashby, I want a KISS!

Success!  Ha!  She was so proud!!  Bahahaha!

After this, the whole fam headed to our local middle school for the show…

Two sisters ready to sing!!

I bet you a thousand dollars that Madeley is in the talent show every.single.year.  #sigh #alwaysentertaining

Waiting for the show to start!

And then…

…it was their turn!!  They stood right on up there and nailed it!!

Everyone clapped and cheered!  We were so proud!

So, if that doesn’t brighten up your Monday, I don’t know what will.  A little Let it Snow from my family to yours.

Last but not least!  Our sweet friend Mel has retired from blogging and insisted that Sheaffer and I continue on with our What’s Up Wednesday link up without her.  (We just love Mel so much!!!)  So, if you’re a blogger, here is our new graphic to use starting this Wednesday…

What's Up Wednesday

…and the bonus question for the month is: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE FAMILY VALENTINE’S DAY TRADITION.

See you guys back here tomorrow AT 7:00 AM CST!!  I AM POSTING LATER TOMORROW BUT IT’S FOR A GREAT REASON!!!

Come on back…just a little later.  I will be here at 7:00 (instead of my normal 4:30!). xo

Hi Shay! Is there a way to “pre-link” to Whats Up Wednesday, or does it have to be done on Wednesday morning? Thanks!

    • Mix and Match Mama January 28, 2019 at 6:39 am

It has to be done on Wednesday morning because it links to one of our published posts. I wish you could though!

  • Leanne Gilchrist January 28, 2019 at 3:29 pm

Those two sisters, sigh, it’s a beautiful thing. I know you may be nervous about the coming years with your girls, but Shay, can I just encourage you? The coming years are going to be so rich, so deep, so lovely and fun, watching your girls grow together as they age. I never had sisters, but seeing my girls with each other and love on each other, it fills my heart! It will also be challenging and trying and tough, but Shay, God gave you these specific girls for you and them to grow and change and become strong together. You’re doing a great job, and He is everything in you that you aren’t. <3

We have a trip to Disney planned for this November and I we were thinking of eating at Cinderella’s royal table for dinner since our two girls love princesses. Have you ever eaten there? If so did you think it was good? I know you have eaten at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. Which do you think is better?:) Are there any other character meals you would recommend? Thanks :):)

    • Mix and Match Mama January 29, 2019 at 5:37 am

We always pick Akershus because you see all of the princesses (not just Cinderella) and it only costs you one “sit down” with your Disney Dining Plan (instead of two like Cinderella’s castle). That being said, so many of our clients love it!!!
