Happy Thursday, friends!
Can I be honest with you? It’s nothing short of a miracle that I’ve been blogging for the last 10 days because…MY INTERNET HATES ME.
My internet has not been working, so I’ve had to get creative and run my business and blog by using my iPhone as a hot spot, using Starbucks’ WiFi and more. Since I work by myself, I do not have an IT department, so I…call Andrew and bug him about it. #poorandrew Two different guys have been out to my house SIX times and yet, it still doesn’t always work. Urg. #moderndayproblems Anyway, so, right now, I’m watching Crazy Rich Asians for the millionth time on TV and blogging via my Macbook and iPhone. If you’re local and have WiFi, can I come work at your house today? Please.
Here’s a little look at life lately…
Andrew and I had a date night last Sunday at Haywire in Plano. It’s so nice to get away and enjoy a kid-free supper from time to time.
I heart this girl BIG TIME! Madeley was having a slumber party with Lovie for the night and Smith and Andrew were snowboarding, so it was just the big girls and me. On Friday night, we ate pizza and then dropped this one off at volleyball practice.
This girl enjoyed her one on one time while K was at volleyball practice. We must have played 3000 rounds of cards together on my bed in our pjs 🙂 .
Come visit downtown McKinney and get your pic in our UNIQUE sign 🙂 .
No school on Monday, so I enjoyed breakfast tacos and Trader Joe’s with my girls before they had play dates.
And they built me a tall tower too 🙂 .
I would post more pictures but in order to air drop photos from my phone to my Macbook, I can’t be using my phone as a hot spot and well, it’s the viscous cycle I’m in. Hahaha! See you tomorrow! xo

Haha, look at that tall tower! I used to do that when I was a kid too!

With all the advances in technology in 2019, I don’t understand what’s happening at your house right now. You can work from my house! Any room BUT my closet. 😉
Emily says
Random question but when your kids were in the toddler phase did you have to put away a lot of your home decor? Or did you just keep them in a play room? I have an almost 15month old and he goes after all the lamps, stools, etc. Any tips?
Mix and Match Mama says
You can go back and look at pics from then. This will probably sound crazy obnoxious, but I just told them not to touch stuff (and didn’t leave out anything that would totally crush my heart if they broke it). I didn’t have a coffee table back then, but I had end tables. I just always kept a basket of toys in pretty much every room and they played with that stuff.

What a fun life lately! I love that pic of the girls building the tower. So cute!!

We’ve never tried Haywire, but I’ve been wanting to! And I had no idea your internet was still giving you fits!!! I’m so sorry!
Alexis deZayas says
Internet problems are so frustrating! Hope yours gets fixed soon! Off topic, but I was cooking this week and thought of another top three idea… top three kitchen appliances (other than fridge/microwave/stove/oven)!
Nikki Dargatz says
I can’t believe your internet is still not working! Come over…I’ll share ?. Jeff is always telling me he’s not my IT. BUT THEN WHO IS? ???♀️
Lindsay says
We had this exact problem a few years ago. The service provider came out six times, and tried numerous things. Eventually, I cancelled services and went with their competitor. When they came out they noticed the wiring on the outside of the house was rotted from the weather. Once all of that was replaced it has worked amazing. Zero problems since.
Tanya says
K is getting so tall. I hope the internet woes are resolved soon! 🙂
Kerri says
Love that you still made it on to blog even with the internet problems! I look forward to your blog posts, even the short and sweet ones 🙂 I do hope you get everything figured out soon.

When ou travel with kids how many outfits would you bring for each kid for a 7 day vacation? Do you bring extras Incase or spills?
Mix and Match Mama says
My rule is typically one per day and then one extra for every 5 days.

Girl fun is so fun!! You’re welcome at my house anytime! David’s in Africa and his desk is empty and it’s pretty quiet here. ❤️

So Ashby built a tower and then become a teenager? She’s looking SO grown up standing in front of that tower in her adorable skinny jeans!

Technology problems frustrate me the most. I wouldn’t even know what to do other than keep calling the servicemen. Date nights are the best.
Erin Chavez says
Ah! Crazy Rich Asians! I just finished the book over the weekend and can’t wait to watch the movie. I forgot – have you read the two sequels?
Patty Anderson says
I’m sorry about your internet problems. And I’m AMAZED that Kensington can eat pizza and then go to volleyball practice. Oh, to be young again!

I was just about to text you because I could not pull up your blog on my phone (wifi on and off) or on my laptop! I could go everywhere else…but not your blog. So weird that when it finally loaded the first thing I read was you were having internet problems! haha. Maybe I am too! I have Haywire on my list of places to try!

Oh my gosh. I can so relate. I was trying to work with Apple help to get iCloud figured out and she asked me how far I was from our router because it was taking an eternity to download something on my phone…I told her …uh…my phone is literally resting on top of the router as we speak…sigh….
Julia says
We have three internet hubs in my home so we can supposedly get good service no matter where we are within the house but I notice mine drops off periodically too! Even with 3 hubs!
We love Haywire! Hubby and I go there occasionally for lunch dates and when it was warm, I loved sitting on the upstairs patio overlooking the box garden for brunch with my girlfriends!

Our internet gives us fits every once in awhile, we were without our internet and our home phone (we can’t get a cellphone signal where we live in the country) for a week, my Dad and I had to go about 3 miles up the road to use his cellphone and my Smartphone but I am glad the phone company did figure out the problem and got our phones and internet working again.

We missed seeing you by one night! My husband and I went to Haywire for the first time Saturday night and LOVED it! I got the TX Whiskey Ribs with the Mac and cheese (to DIE for) and my husband got the Chicken Fried Steak. We will definitely be going back soon. What did y’all get and did you love it?! Always enjoy date nights with my hubby!

Shay, I sympathize with you. For 6 weeks my internet was sporadic. I used Hughes Net Gen 4 since it came out and the modem finally just quit. They would not replace it so I changed servers and for 2 weeks had great service, internet worked faster, then it started acting possessed, worked when it wanted. I called company and then had to wait 4 weeks for the tech to come out. This is a new company and they only have 1 tech who covers both SC and NC. He came Sunday afternoon and found there was only 1 screw holding the satellite on the roof, and several other things wrong which the original installer did not do. When tech finished Sunday my internet now zooms. Good luck getting it going
Lea Culp says
Oh, internet, computer or whatever that effects these amazing machines is sooooo aggravating. I had modem issues last week and almost had a stroke before I had someone here to fix it. Such cute pics of your kiddos and and you and Hubby. Happy rest of the week!

I’m such a country girl and couldn’t help but notice the animal mounts above your entertainment center! What are they? Not the type of thing I’d figure you’d have in your house! ?

Girl, let’s have a coffee/wifi date at Starbucks!! Internet problems are the WORST!! My desktop hates me lately, so I feel you!!
Diana Walker says
We’ve been wanting to try Haywire forever! We have 2 other restaurants in Irving that have the same ownership as Haywire, and we love them. I hear their brunch is awesome!
