Well, yesterday we went to the zoo…and it wasn’t a zoo! We were shocked! Sheaffer, Narci, Erika and myself all met there bright and early right when it opened because we just knew that the first day of Spring Break without rain would bring the masses…but apparently the masses didn’t get the weather memo and it was pretty much empty. We decided as we were leaving that it was hands-down the best zoo trip we’ve had with our little crew. The weather was mid-50s, there wasn’t a crowd, our kiddos were excellent and we left in time to get home for naps. Score!
We arrived to the zoo about 15 minutes before it opened, so we had plenty of time for a few pre-zoo pics.
…and of course, we had time for shenanigans too…
All lined up and ready for the zoo! It’s hard to believe we used to bring them out as infants and now look how big they all are!
Carter (6), Luke (6), Nixon (4), Smith (5), Presley (5), Kensington (6), Ashby (2), Ebby Lee (5), Bowen (2)
Mama zoo selfie…words cannot adequately describe how much I love these ladies :).
I’m pretty sure Smith’s favorite part was feeding the giraffes.
I love her sweet laugh here :).
My littlest girl had a great time at the Dallas Zoo too!
Penguins mom!
I can’t believe we lived 2.5 years without her.
Checking out the Savannah with my girl.
At the end, we played on the playground. Ashby loves to slide!
Big, Middle, and Little take the zoo!
Whew! What a fun day we had!
On my foodie blog today…
…it’s my St. Paddy’s Day Menu! I have your day covered from breakfast to lunch, dinner and dessert too! It’s all green and all festive. Click here to see.

It was the perfect zoo day! I'm so glad we went! Isn't it way easier taking 4 and 5 year olds than those infants? Hahaha!
Michele @ The Joyful Home says
It certainly was a perfect zoo day yesterday, and I'm glad it wasn't crowded. I was tempted to take my crew to the Arboretum, but we didn't get back in town until after lunch, and I just knew it would be a zoo there 🙂

Love the zoo…we are headed to Moody Gardens in Galveston this weekend, and I can't wait to take my 3 year old to see the penguins! By the way, did you see the precious video of the little girl who found out she was getting a baby sister from China? It was on the Today show this morning.
