I looooove pimento cheese!
And cheeseburgers!
So, we made Pimento Cheese Burgers!
I thought a burger recipe was the PERFECT way to kick off May!
Happy grilling season, friends!
This recipe makes four (half-pound) burgers.
Shopping List
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
½ cup mayonnaise
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1 ½ tablespoons garlic powder
1 ½ tablespoons onion powder
salt and pepper
1 (4 oz) jar of pimentos, drained
2 pounds of ground beef
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
about 2 tablespoons of your favorite steak seasoning
1 red onion, chopped
6 slices of bacon, cooked to crisp and crumbled, reserve a few to garnish at the end
4 burger buns (we used sweet Hawaiian rolls)
First, make your pimento cheese and then keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to eat. This will probably make more than enough, so use it as a dip too! In a mixing bowl, beat together with an electric mixer your softened cream cheese along with the mayo, cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder and a big pinch of both salt and pepper. Mix until just incorporated. Next, stir in your pimentos. Cover and keep in fridge until your burgers are ready.
Next, preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan over medium-high heat.
In a mixing bowl, combine your ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, and steak seasoning together. Divide this mixture into four sections and make four patties (make sure to press down each patty a little in the center to avoid the “burger bulge” when they grill).
Add your burger patties to the grill and begin grilling (we do about 6 minutes or so each side). When your burgers are done, assemble! Bun plus patty plus pimento cheese, chopped crispy bacon and lots of chopped red onion.
The perfect way to kick off May!
