Whether you make these little crab cakes as an appetizer or pop them on a mini bun and make them cute little sliders, they’re delish! Instead of making big crab cake burgers, we decided to make them slider size. These are crispy, filled with yummy flavors and super simple to make. If you’ve never made a crab cake at home, you should! It’s basically like making a meatball…put everything in a bowl, combine and bake. Simple as that! Enjoy!
This recipe makes about eight sliders.
Shopping List
16 oz lump crab meat
1 (4 oz) jar of diced pimentos, drained
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup plain panko or breadcrumbs
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
about 8 green onions, chopped
a handful of cilantro, chopped
salt and pepper (just a big pinch of both)
8 slider sized burger buns
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper and lightly spray with Pam. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine crab meat, pimentos, garlic powder, panko, beaten eggs, Dijon mustard, green onions, cilantro, salt and pepper. Take your mixture and turn it into 8 mini crab cake patties with your hands. Place the patties on your prepared cookie sheet.
Bake about 10 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy on the edges.
Remove immediately and either serve as is or add to a slider bun.
That’s it!
