Hi shay! We made your pumpkin bread tonight and loved it! My daughter Brynlee has had 2 servings! Thanks for the recipe! I don’t know if this is weird but my daughter said I should share our families apple sauce bread recipe with whoever made the pumpkin bread recipe:).
Here is our families favorite bread recipe
Apple sauce bread
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup softened butter
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/4 cup greek yogurt
1 cup applesauce (unsweetened or cinnamon)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
pinch salt
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350. Butter a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, mix together butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, greek yogurt and applesauce.
Add the vanilla, flour, baking soda, baking powder and mix until just combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Top with crumbs. Bake for 45-60 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
— CRUMBS— Put 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp flour, 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp oats, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and a pinch of salt in food processor. Turn on and add 4 tablespoons butter a bit at a time until it resembles crumbs.

This sounds so delicious!! I love apple anything, and this one really intrigues me with the Greek yogurt!
Zella says
Yes it’s our daughters favorite! The Greek yogurt gives the cake moistness without a lot of fat! Hope you guys try it!

Hi shay I was looking through all your Halloween recipes and decided to make your HALLOWEEN FUNFETTI FUDGE for my daughters kindergarten class party. All the adults and kids loved it. We are wanting to make it again but my husband wants me to make chocolate fudge. Would I just use semi sweet chocolate chips? Or do you have a recipe for chocolate fudge?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yay!!!! This makes me so happy!! For this recipe, just swap out the chips and you’ll be good to go!

Hi shay!
We need a little advise…
My husband and I are expecting a little girl and due in only One week. However we can’t agree on a name. Our older daughter who is 7 is named Carrington. My husband really loves Kensington’s name and wants to use that name. I really love the name too but I am worried it’s too close to Carrington. What do you think? With multiple kids would it be confusing for school and stuff? Also Do you have any name ideas? Our last name is Ede If that helps you think of anything.
Mix and Match Mama says
Hmmmmm…I don’t think I mind them both ending in “ington”. They’re very similar, but I think it’s okay. What about naming her Catherine? I like Catherine and Carrington too!
Jillian says
Yes! We actually love Catherine!
Jillian says
Do you think the name Leighton would also be cute for a girl? Do you think it works with our last name?
Mix and Match Mama says
YES!!!
Yvette says
Quick question sorry if it’s a dumb question but is taco soup basically then name thing as chili?
Mix and Match Mama says
They’re very similar!! I would say for the most part that chili is thicker.

Has Ashby ever thought about trying competitive swimming? She should be able to do it no problem.:) Our daughter who is now 13 but has been swimming competitively since she was 5. She was born with out a left leg. You guys should consider it for Ashby since she could swim her whole life no problem
Mix and Match Mama says
We’ve talked about it! I’m hoping it interests her soon!!
Harriet says
Hey shay have you tried tried joes taco seasoning packet? Was it more spicy than the ones you get at the grocery store? I was going to make your taco rice bowls but my daughter only likes a little spice. She is usually fine with the McCormack’s taco seasoning packet but someone told me the traderjoes one is a lot spicier. Do you think it’s spicier? Thanks
Mix and Match Mama says
You know, I haven’t! I need to try it though!!
Gia says
Hey shay could you do a grocery haul for what you buy for one week? Please
Hawthorns family says
Hey shay My family needs some Disney help. Do you think it’s worth it to pay for and get a deluxe villa with a kitchen and cook all your own meals inside it? Do you think we would save money or no? Thanks so much I am in the beginning stages of booking my families trip to Disney. Also we are a family of 4 ( us, 10 year old and 6 year old) if that helps!
Mix and Match Mama says
I think there are a lot of variables here. Are you going to get groceries or having them sent in? How many nights are you staying? You could stay at one of the more economical resorts in a standard room and use the meal plan…I think that would be my choice so that you don’t miss out on Disney’s amazing restaurants.
Hawthorns Family says
We are staying 1 week and we would have grocery’s delivered. The only reason I would make all our own dinners is that We have heard disney is all fast food and I don’t want my family eating burgers everyday.
Mix and Match Mama says
Not at all! They have an amazing variety and so many delicious full service restaurants with a wide variety of cuisine!
Hawthorns family says
Do you think it would be worth us still making all our own meals? Just to save money? We have heard the theme park food is also super expensive. Do you know anyone who has done this? I would probably just make dinner for us and we would get a quick service breakfast and a snack for lunch. Thanks for your help
Mix and Match Mama says
Sure! Your family should do whatever makes the most sense for your family!
Hawthorns family says
My other question is about Disney quick service. Do your kids typically eat a whole kids meal at Disney ? Are kids meals splittable between kids?
Mix and Match Mama says
It depends on how old they are. I for sure thing most meals/snacks are large enough for two younger kids.
Muffy says
Hey shay do you know how many balls one batch of your Oreo balls makes?
Mix and Match Mama says
Since these don’t bake in the oven, they don’t have to be one size which means, you can make as many or as little as you want depending on how big you make them. I typically make them golf ball sized, but you could make them smaller or larger.
Georgia says
Shay you have to watch this new show called “taken at birth” it’s about the Hicks story! We have loved the first two episodes
Hilly says
Hey shay have you ever tried making baked donuts using a donut pan? I am really tempted to order a donut pan off amazon but wanted to know if you have ever used one.
Mix and Match Mama says
I haven’t!! I need to buy a donut pan myself!
