…every year, Sheaffer and I team up to give a great big thanks to YOU our readers for being so sweet, so kind, so loyal and so wonderful to us all year long.  It’s a week of prizes for you AND your friends.  They’re big.  They’re amazing.  Every year, we try to top the last.  IT’S MY FAVORITE WEEK OF THE YEAR!  And today, we’re kicking it off with…

Let me elaborate a bit on today’s goodies…

…this is not a recent pic of me, BUT I happen to be snuggling with both the blanket (it comes in a gazillion colors and would make the PERFECT holiday gift) and the blardigan (the ultimate cardigan that comes in several colors and styles…it’s a-mazing!).  You can select any color blanket along with any Barefoot Dreams cardigan that is $130 and under.  There are so many different styles to choose from and lots of different colors for each style…

…these Sorel booties that both Sheaffer and I LOVE!!!!  I have now taken my booties on two vacations where I walked and walked and not only did my feet stay warm BUT they never hurt!  I love these booties so much!!  I bought them in brown and Sheaffer bought them in black.

My post today is short and sweet because…on Friday afternoon, I had a hysterectomy.  So…yeah.  I’m sure I’ll have more to say about that at some point, but for now, I’m home from the hospital recovering.  Prayers always appreciated. xo

        Be sure to rest and allow your body to heal from major surgery. I’m so bad at doing too much, too fast so I feel like moms need to be encouraged to rest.

    Praying for your recovery. I had a complete hysterectomy 9 years ago. It took many weeks to heal, but I feel much better now. Let your sweet family take care of you. I kept a small pillow nearby whenever I had to do anything with my abdominals. I would clutch it over my stomach if I had to cough or put a seatbelt on. It helped. Take time to rest and let all the insides heal. Be patient. ❤️

You completely threw me off with the bottom news, although this is strange but when you said you had health things to deal with about a month or so ago I wondered if that was it!     Oh Shay! Praying for quick healing! Also, I just got this blanket in on Friday and it DOES live up to the hype. Love it and purchased one for sister-in-law, mom, sister and niece. The colors are beautiful and its soft and warm without being too thick. GREAT gift idea.

    Oh goodness! Praying for an uneventful and smooth recovery. I had a complete hysterectomy a year and a half ago. Recovery was hard, but it was well worth it. You’re a busy mama and I know it’s so hard to just sit and let your body heal, but try hard not to overdo it! ❤️

    You may have already experienced this, but one very unexpected side effect of my hysterectomy was grief for the children I would never have. I had three biological kids and didn’t plan on having more, so the grief really took me by surprise. Years later, God gifted me with three adoptive kids. They are now all grown up. Interesting where God will take us! Good luck and God Bless.

I had a total hysterectomy when I was 40 years old (I’m almost 60) and I am so thankful I did. It really improved my health and my overall being.

    I’ll be praying for you to have a fast and easy recovery. ❤️ If you’re watching any extra Hallmark movies during this time, watch for movies that Jan Broberg stars in. (Awhile back you posted about the documentary ‘Abducted in Plain Sight’ The Jan Broberg story.) Jan usually plays the mom in Hallmark movies and does a great job. I live in the same town Jan grew up in and knew the family and loved them all. It is an unbelievable story. Take good care of yourself and thank you for the opportunity for this great giveaway.

    I had a hysterectomy when I was 28 years old. The most important advice I can give you is to be kind to yourself.
    Take the time to heal. Even with Christmas just around the corner…God has you and your family in His hands.
    Allow yourself the time to recover…take it slow. Watch your favorite movies, read a lot. snuggle with your family and that includes the fur babies too. Let them take care of you. Shay you are always taking care of everyone and now it’s your turn to let them dote on you! I am praying for a quick recovery that is full of love, laughter and Joy.

    Hope you heal as quickly as I did from my hysterectomy— I was barely out of social commission a week (of course no sweeping, housework, etc for weeks after that!). Prayers that you are healing and enjoying the Christmas lights and movies!

    Shay, so sorry to heal about your hysterectomy! Sending you lots of prayers and healing thoughts! I had my hysterectomy in 1996 due to uterine cancer at age 37 and felt wonderful when healed. In a couple of hours, I leave to have foot surgery, although that is an outpatient procedure. Wishing you all the best and the merriest of holidays to you and your family!

    Feel better soon! Seeing your Instagram post from this morning I am amazed how perky and smiling you are after a surgery just a few days prior.. I ordered the throw earlier as a Christmas gift to my “other” mother (my best friend’s mom). I’ve ordered a gift card for her to use with her Kindle and some fuzzy slippers or socks will round out the gift. Take it easy, don’t try to do too much too soon and let that family of yours spoil you!

    I too had a hysterectomy “young” ! Once healed, you’ll love it! You should ask your doc for a prescription for abdominal/ pelvic physical therapy. It is amazing and really does help the pelvic floor. Here’s to happy healing!
