It’s the perfect combination!
We took pepper jelly (we love Trader Joe’s!) and not only put it on top of our burger…but inside of it too.
Add pepper jack cheese and bam!
Your weekend burger never looked so good 🙂 .
Enjoy!!
PrintPepper Jelly Cheese Burgers

- Cook Time: 6 minutes
- Total Time: 16 minutes
- Yield: 4 half pound burgers 1x
Description
What happens when you add pepper jelly to a burger? Deliciousness!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- about 2 tablespoons of your favorite steak seasoning
- 1 (11 oz) jar of pepper jelly (we love Trader Joe’s!)
- 4 slices of pepper jack cheese
- 1 tomato, sliced
- a handful of cilantro
- lettuce (we love bib!)
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan over medium-high heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine your ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, steak seasoning and about half of your jarred pepper jelly together.
- Divide this mixture into four sections and make four patties (make sure to press down each patty a little in the center to avoid the “burger bulge” when they grill).
- Add your burger patties to the grill and begin grilling (we do about 6 minutes or so each side).
- About a minute before your patties are done, top each one with pepper jack cheese.
- When your burgers are done, assemble!
- Bun plus lettuce, pile on some fresh cilantro, a slice of tomato, your cheesy burger patty plus a dollop of your remaining pepper jelly.
Notes
You can assemble your burgers any way you like, but the combination of the pepper jelly, pepper jack and cilantro is one of our faves! We also use gluten-free buns to keep this meal g-free.

Hi! Have your kids ever watched a show called professor fizzys lunch lab? It’s about the different nutritional facts about what is in the food we eat and what food we should eat.
Mix and Match Mama says
NO? Checking it out!

I think it’s only an online show from PBS kids. Did you have a chance to look it up:)

I wasn’t able to find pepper jelly at TJ’s and read something about it being discontinued. Did you get it recently? I was also looking for the nutritional info.
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! I bought a jar just Monday! I find it on the jam/jelly aisle or sometimes also near the freshly baked bread.

I love their paper jelly!! I also have used softened cream cheese, pepper jelly and diced fresh jalapeño on top of the burger. It’s so good!

I started using the TJ’s pepper jelly after purchasing some apricot pepper jelly during a trip to San Francisco in 2016. I searched high and low for that jelly with no success.. I like the Trader Joe’s version, but the other was the best. It is from Frog Hollow Farm in California and I FINALLY found it again this spring online. I used it to make a grilled cheese with bacon, grilled onion and smoked cheddar on a ciabatta roll. It was a heavenly lunch with a sliced Honeycrisp apple.
