Happy Tuesday, friends!
Grab that peppermint mocha, those cozy socks and settle in! Today, Erika and I are going to BREAK DOWN THE BESTIE BOOK CLUB #2!
This month’s book is…
…The Girls in the Stilt House by Kelly Mustian!
Now, if you caught my October Book Review…
…then you already know that I LOVED this book!! I only teased it a bit in my book review, but today, you really get to list to us break it down.
Now, if you haven’t read the book and don’t plan on it, YOU CAN STILL LISTEN TO TODAY’S EPISODE because we do talk about other things non-book related. We talk a lot about our thoughts on Thanksgiving (the food, the traditions, what we love and don’t love about Turkey Day), plus we have a wee bit of an argument over laundry detergent and well, we discuss my dog’s going to the bathroom. See? So much non-book stuff in the episode. Bahahaha! However, if you do plan on reading the book and/or are in the middle of it, DO NOT LISTEN TO TODAY’S EPISODE UNTIL YOU’RE FINISHED as we do discuss SPOILERS!!
Non book readers, we have loads of fun content for you today, so go ahead and listen. It’s a fun episode filled with lots of girlfriend love and laughs!
Don’t forget, if you finished our book from last month…
…make sure you go back and listen to EPISODE 18 where we break down this fun read!

I have not been able to read a book since my dad went to Heaven last year. I could to seem to focus. But I jut finished this book and it was amazing! It was a total escape from the current world. Very well written and informative. Great character development. I am looking forward to following along for your book choices now! My dad was an elementary school principal, so I know he would be happy that I am able to read for enjoyment again.

I am so happy you picked this one up and loved it. I wish I could hug you right now, Susan. xx
Laurel M says
Can we please have a happy book next time? This one was so depressing!
Mix and Match Mama says
It was super hard to read!! I totally agree!! It wasn’t my normal light and fluffy!
Laurel M says
I want to amend my comment. It’s true, this wasn’t the perkiest book, but after listening to the podcast and hearing others’ perspectives I feel like I have a more well rounded view of the story. So, still a somber story, but I’m more encouraged for the girls rather than sad for them (I’m trying not to post spoilers! Lol)

Clearly Erika and I need to be friends… I have the same meat hangups! ? I’d 100% rather taste smokiness, for example, than plain meat. Haha!
Also, we started doing breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, homemade yeast rolls, fresh fruit medley, cinnamon rolls, etc.) a few Thanksgivings ago, and it’s SO GOOD! Way better than turkey. ?
Erika Slaughter says
I’m so glad we chose this book! It was a good one!
Nicole says
Oh my word!!! I totally read the Tide package and use pods accordingly!! I even use multiple dryer sheets too…hahaha! I feel so wasteful after listening! ????♀️
Caryn says
For the pods, I use one for small and two for medium to large . . . for your poll. 🙂

I think the reason Ada was so weak and Matilda, strong was from the way they were raised. Ada lost her sweet mother at a very young age, and was raised by a cruel father. Matilda was raised by two loving parents who adored and encouraged her even though they had little. Her foundation was strong, which gave her strength through all the hard times. Ada had nothing upon which to build strength. Yet, she was loving and gentle.
