Friends, it’s a good day to have a GOOD FRIDAY!
I say this every single year, but you know I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I love all of the “fluff” of the holidays. I love the food, the fellowship with friends and family and all of the “extra” things that go along with them, but I believe you also know that THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN MY LIFE IS MY RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS.
One day when I die, I hope I’m remembered as someone who loved her family (and encouraged adoption!) and who got up every day trying to live for Jesus.
If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and have any questions about your faith, my faith, or whatever, please feel free to email me. I’d be happy to reach back out with a word of encouragement and also share a bit about why I put my faith in Jesus Christ. You can email me here: mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com
I would love to think that all you can make it into a church service this weekend, but if for whatever reason, you cannot, I have two great online options for you!
You can watch one of the MANY Easter services we have here at church this weekend beginning with a service tonight. All of the options, times, live streaming and recordings can be found HERE. You also know how much I love Southeast Christian Church. Their pastor is one of my very favorites and always delivers an amazing Easter service. I hope you check out one of these options should you not be able to worship in person.
God bless you all this Easter weekend! May the hope, peace, comfort, joy and love that comes from Christ fill your home this holiday. xo Shay

Additionally to our home church we watch Robert Morris at Gateway Church. Last month he had an excellent series on the Gifts of Jesus, Eph 4:9-11, not to be confused with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. On April 3rd Dr. Ben Carson spoke, we found it very interesting for the whole family. Wishing you & your family a Blessed Easter

Happy Good Friday indeed! Our senior daughters had prom last weekend; several of their friends spent the night and went to church with us the next morning. We had a very somber Good Friday service with scripture reading and songs. At one point, they encouraged everyone who wanted to stream forward and place a finger in a red ink pad and then place the ink on a small cross symbolizing our sins on the cross. It’s always risky when you do something against the norm on a Sunday morning. The service ended with the song Death was Arrested by North Point Worship. I loved that my girls and their friends were ready to STAND, WORSHIP and SING LOUD when the lyrics “released from my chains I’m a prisoner no more, my shame was a ransom he faithfully bore”. I can’t wait to worship on Sunday morning! It’s Friday, but Sunday is coming!
