Oh hey, Monday!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I’m headed off this morning to get my annual mammogram. Ladies, you know how much I love you all, so please, please, please make sure you’re getting your mammograms, your annual skin checks and visiting your doctor each year for an annual exam. I’m very pro-let’s take care of ourselves, and I hope you are 🙂 .
I have a few pics from my most recent trip to Boston last week. Let’s be real, I should just move there right now. I was there in July. In August. In September. In October. I love you, Boston. You are my favorite city in the world 😉 .
If you want to read more about all the things I love to do in Boston…
…you can read about it here in my All About Boston post Part 2. From food tours to the JFK Library, where I like to stay and more, it’s linked in that post.
If you have any other Boston questions for me, feel free to leave it in the comment section here.
In the meantime, a few pics from our weekend…
…on this trip we stayed at the Marriott Copley Place and our room was on the top floor with a pretty amazing view. When we arrived, it was chilly but sunny and gorgeous outside! We landed at 3:30, checked in and headed straight to the game.
Hellllllo Fenway!
The Red Sox were celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with special music, food, performances throughout the entire evening.
It’s always good to be back!
My mom always prefers to go to just one game, so for this first game, it was just Dad and me.
Here’s a nugget of information for you, our leadoff batter and I graduated from the same high school.
Game one, done! It was a fun way to start our trip!
The next morning, I slept in a bit, did some work and then we headed out around 10:30. It was a cold and drizzly Boston day, but we didn’t mind.
Boston was gorgeous dressed in her spring colors!
My very favorite flower is the tulip 🙂 .
A little wet but a whole lot of happy!
My dad is there for the baseball, my mom is there for the shopping, I’m there for both! Charles Street is our favorite spot for cute boutiques and cafes. It’s a beautiful walk through the Common to Newbury Street for more shopping and dining too.
We all love to eat lunch at Joe’s on Newbury, and it was the perfect spot to stop, eat and…
…sit by the window in the enclosed patio watching it rain. After lunch…
…we headed back out to explore a bit more. It was just a lovely day hanging out with my mom and dad.
Dinner came with a pretty great view!
I very much enjoyed my sausage, peppers and onions and…the no rain! It stopped raining and cleared up about an hour or so before game time!
It was a good game…forced a 10th inning and all…but well…the wheels fell completely off and we lost.
No place I’d rather be though to watch my Red Sox.
Another trip to Fenway in the books!
Now, don’t forget, IT’S MONDAY! That means another one of…
…my HAPPY MAY GIVEAWAYS!!
Every Monday in May, I’m giving away something fun to celebrate the season. I want this month to be happy, joyous and filled with things that make us smile. Ready to know what this week’s giveaway is?!
This week, I’m giving away…
…a $300 Barrington Gifts gift card! Yes, yes! One lucky winner will receive a gift card to Barrington to create her own tote, small pouches or more. You guys know how much I am obsessed with Barrington. I have been buying, using and loving their totes and small zipper pouches for YEARS and YEARS! One of my favorite things to do is go to their website and design different pieces. If you’ve never done it before, you should 🙂 . There are so many size options, patterns, monograms, leather options…it’s just another really happy place on the internet. I typically buy the Savannah zippered style tote, but last year (pictured above), I bought the St. Anne zippered one instead and love how it’s just a little bit bigger. Also, you know though how much my heart loves…
…their small zippered pouches. Over the years, I’ve bought dozens of these for either myself or to gift people. They’re great for totes, for traveling, for makeup, office supplies…they’re just so cute and HAPPY! Today’s winner gets a $300 gift card to create and enjoy their own unique Barrington product!
For this giveaway, my Canadian friends will be happy because they are eligible to win, but my friends without Instagram will not be happy. I’m sorry! I’m trying to change it up for a wide variety of audiences. Each week, I’m making the entry options different, so please pay attention to what they are for this giveaway. This way to enter is NEW! This week’s entry is only for those of you who use Instagram (for this week only!). Complete the Rafflecopter below to enter. I am so glad that you are encouraging women to have their annual mammogram. That is how my breast cancer was found. It was very small and treatable. I have been cancer free since I finished treatments in October?.
What a great giveaway! Love my Barrington bag!

God bless YOU, Melinda! I’m so happy yours was detected early!!! Praise the Lord!

We are heading to Boston on Friday! Can you give me some advice on what clothes to pack? Jeans or shorts this time of year? What are the best walking shoes? Thanks! I’ve found all of your posts so helpful in planning.
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh how fun! Okay, I would probably pack jeans. The last two times I’ve been up there, I’ve worn these sneakers because they’re so comfy! https://shopstyle.it/l/bGQxf
Kacey says
Hey Brooke! Boston girlie here! It’s supposed to be pretty warm this weekend so definitely pack layers. It can feel like winter in the morning and summer by the afternoon so this time of year layers are key! Also, for walking, sneakers are great or I love Sanuks. Something like these https://www.sanuk.com/womens-shoes/avery-hemp/1116485.html#start=3&cgid=womens-shoes will be perfect

Looking for recommendations to get from Boston to Hyannis to take the ferry! Train is not operating on our travel dates. Bus? Rent a car?
Mix and Match Mama says
I would use a car service! I think this is the simplest way to get from A to B here.
Ann says
Thank you!!

Don’t know your budget but there’s also flights which would save a whole lot of time. The commute to the Cape in the summer can be rough

Stephanie says
Have you been there in March? Thinking of a 5 day trip mid March in 2023 but I’m wondering if the weather will be too cold/finicky
Mix and Match Mama says
I went in March a few years ago and there was snow on the ground! I imagine it will be chilly next March!
Brandi Ramsey says
I love these bags!!
Ashley says
Yes to skin checks! However, I will say I always preach thermography over mammograms. Repeated mammograms over a lifetime means repeated exposure to low levels of radiation, which may increase the risk of breast cancer! They can also reveal noncancerous changes, leading to false-positive results. This can lead to short-term anxiety, further tests, and treatment, which may be unnecessary and costly and they’re uncomfortable!
Kristy Moore says
I would love to visit Boston-if not only for the seafood!
Kacey says
Your Boston posts always make me so happy! Totally biased, since I’ve lived here my whole life, but Boston IS the BEST and I love that you love our city so much!
Cathy says
Looks like you had an amazing time in Boston! Glad you have fun with your parents. Miss mine.

We love Boston after living there a couple years in the late 80s. We are planning a return visit this fall and cannot wait. Do you have a personal connection there? School, family?? Just curious. You just can’t help but fall in love .
Mix and Match Mama says
No, I just love it. I love the people, the history, the food, the weather, the water, the trees…I just love it.
Melissa says
