Hey, hey, hey! Happy Saturday from Paris!
You guys, I was hesitant to stop and blog every night, but I’m already SO happy that I am. Thank YOU for the feedback last night!! Your enthusiasm and encouragement is exactly why I wanted to try something new this year. I’m so happy to have you join me on this trip. If you missed PART #1, go back and check that out.
We just wrapped up Day Two here in Paris…and it was an epic Saturday. Since we have been here many times before, we decided to do something different this afternoon. After visiting the markets this morning and then visiting Montmartre, we headed out for a walking tour…
We had a fabulous guide who took us on a three hour walking tour beginning in the Saint-Germain area and ending on Ile Saint-Louis. We enjoyed so many fun snacks and treats along the way, wine, cappuccinos, cheese, pastries as we strolled the beautiful neighborhoods and learned about the history and local traditions.
We popped into so many spots that we never would have found on our own.
We strolled…
…we ate…
…the weather was super cold but sunny which made it fabulous for walking…
…yes, please!
We love food tours when we visit cities. Whether you’re in the US or abroad, if you’re going to a new city, I can’t recommend them enough. Not only do you learn so much from locals, but you also get to sample delicious items that you just wouldn’t find on your own.
Now, after our tour, we walked another two miles exploring on our way back to the hotel. I just checked my watch and so far today, I’m up to 10 miles! I guess that means more cheese for me. 🙂
Right now, I’m heading to change now, and then we’re off to dinner. Jet lag was getting to me this morning (I did NOT want to wake up, agh!), but I’m perky now, so I better take advantage of it. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday night. I’ll check back in with you tomorrow! xx

I think that’s quite common. We’ve been enjoying breakfast in our hotel before we head out.

Your trips are all so fabulous! You should think of writing quick “Shay Recommends” guides to specific locations! We could purchase and download a digital file. You could list hotels, restaurants, sightseeing locations and general tips. I would love it and I’m sure many others would as well!

How fun, Shay!!! You are making me want to book a trip to Paris stat!! Another beautiful day in Paris!, how lovely!!!! Ok, truthful question here….does Andrew recommend the food tours? When we were in NYC right before Christmas, I wanted to book one, but my hubby said, “That’s what you do when you’re with girlfriends. I don’t think guys would like a food tour.” So… we didn’t book one. But I will book one next time if Andrew says guys will like them! (I KNOW I would love it! Just wondering about it for the guys!)
Mix and Match Mama says
You should let us help you get to Paris 🙂 ! My travel agency would love that! There are different types of food tours. With my girlfriends, we tend to do tours that are more focused on the food with some history thrown in, but with Andrew, we do tours that are heavier on the history. If you book private tours (not group tours), you can customize them to fit everyone’s needs. Andrew loves these tours!
Kristen says
Do you recommend food tours with kids? Age 12?
Mix and Match Mama says
I think it depends on the tour and the kids. I think, especially if it combines history, it would be really beneficial and fun for families!
Ashley says
A walking tour sounds so amazing, and I love that you got to try so many different treats! And wow, you got in a ton of walking, that’s awesome! Loved seeing all your pretty photos.

I’m love Paris. Did you go to the park with all the statues. It is so romantic. Dif you go to momart or where the artists are. I’m sure yyou saw the Arc of Triumph. I may not be spelling them right. Go to the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Have you taken a ride on the Seine or the Rhine? Thats probably in Germany. Have a wonderful time. I’m going to church.
Joanne says
That sounds wonderful!! I almost always bring my laptop on vacation and like to blog about my day right before bed; even if I don’t plan on posting that blog post for days I like having that quiet end to my evening and time to write down everything we did and saw that day while it’s fresh in my mind because then when years go by I have a perfect little recap of everything we did and saw.
Penny Sheehan says
Beautiful. We will be there soon
Kristin Lyngaas says
Bon soire from Phoenix! Hope you had a beautiful day! ❤️
Courtney says
There was a Louis Vuitton museum in Paris I loved a few weeks ago! Almost missed it! Look it up if you have time.
Kelly Franks says
Love that you are recapping the trip in real time! Also, you are so right on the food tours. My husband and I did the one in NYC that you all did on your girls trip and it was PHENOMENAL! And an added bonus was we had the same tour guide and she was wearing the same sweater. 😂
Tiffany says
I always love following along on your travels! Question- Do you check or carry on when you travel internationally? We are going to Spain in March (Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona). I have a hard time picturing fitting everything in a carry on…but worry about a checked bag potentially not making it. Curious what you do. TYIA!
Mix and Match Mama says
We always check our bags. The majority of the time, we never have a single issue. I just find it to be so much easier.
Rachel says
My husband booked us a food tour of East Village when we went to NYC in 2011, I loved it! I would’ve never tried an egg cream otherwise, and I definitely wouldn’t have known to go to a convenience store to get the best one!
Paula says
Do you & Andrew watch Somebody Feeding Phil? If you don’t, you definitely should and I believe you will LOVE it & base new travels on it. Phil wrote Everybody Loves Raymond based on his parents. You’ll learn that through the show. I love watching you and others eat through countries. I can’t currently travvel with my situation of caregiving, but I love trying to recreate food from other countries. Your travels inspire me.
Mix and Match Mama says
I’ve never watched it! I know exactly who Phil is. Doesn’t he have a podcast too? I need to look it up!
Erika Slaughter says
I love a food tour!!!
