Merry, merry Monday, friends!
You guys, it’s DECEMBER 11th, and my holiday-loving heart has a big assortment of festive Christmas cheer from our weekend to start off your week!
We. Are. Living. Our. Most. Festive. Lives. Right. Now.
Remember these days though…
…in their Christmas clothes, him with his plastic num-chuks 😉 .
On Saturday night, it was the annual MCKINNEY LIGHT PARADE which is my #1 favorite thing to do in McKinney, TX!
We met up with Erika and her kiddos and so many of our sweet friends for the festive fun!
We also ran into these two and their precious families. Mackenzie is my social media manager and Caroline is my office manager. I am so grateful both of these ladies work for me. They BOTH know how to read my mind (my apologies to them 😉 ) and both keep my world spinning. I am SO grateful for them!
I looked down and my little was sitting in my eldest’s lap. My mama heart loved seeing my three girlies down there watching together.
This is McKinney’s most epic event!
Love him.
We’re no longer a small town, but it’s moments like this when we still feel like one.
Guess what? Guess what?
My very favorite skincare AND haircare brand Colleen Rothschild Beauty is collaborating with me today because they have a PROMO CODE!!
Today, with code CYBER, 30% off site wide (excludes bundles and advent calendars)!
Just as a reminder, here are some of my very favorite Colleen Rothschild products that I use every single day…
#1: RADIANT CLEANSING BALM is always the #1 product I recommend. I take my makeup off and wash my face with this every single day. You know how sometimes when you wash your face, your skin feels tight right after? This does the complete opposite. Not only does it remove even the most stubborn waterproof eye makeup, but it leaves your skin more hydrated and moisturized without feeling heavy or greasy. After years of using this, I cannot imagine using anything else to cleanse my skin and remove my makeup.
#2: VITAMIN C NOURISHING CREAM is an amazing part of my routine! I first started using this as my nighttime moisturizer this spring and am already on my third jar. It’s so hydrating and moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling really great the next morning. Speaking of Vitamin C…
#3: VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING SERUM is another super affective part of my routine. I apply just a bit of this to my face and neck every morning before my daytime moisturizer.
#4: RETINOL SUPREME EYE SERUM is one of the products I’ve been using since Day #1…since 2019! I originally bought this because my mom told me this was one of her staple products…and now, it’s mine too. I like to apply a thin layer under my eyes both morning and night as part of my skincare routine.
#5: AGE RENEWAL SUPER SERUM is my evening serum that I apply after I cleanse and before I moisturize. It truly is a “super” serum packing quite a punch with more than 20 ingredients to fight the six signs of aging (texture, dehydration, elasticity, fine lines, radiance and tone). I’ve used it for YEARS and truly think it’s made a huge difference with my skin. If you only try one of these products right now, I would say this is the BIGGEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! This serum is basically like six serums in one and right now with promo code CYBER, you get it for 30% off. My mom and I both use this as part of our daily routine.
#6: SHEER RENEWAL CREAM has been my daily go-to moisturizer since 2019. I wear this every single day regardless if I’m going out, staying in, wearing makeup or not. It’s light, not heavy, not greasy and yet super hydrating and easy to wear under SPF and makeup.
What’s the best combination with great skincare?!
I told my mom that you guys were not going to believe this conversation happened, but I PROMISE YOU IT DID WHILE WE WERE HERE…
At The Breeze restaurant on Nantucket (we took a selfie to document it!). Mom mom told me that as much as she loves Colleen Rothschild Skincare, she has been using the haircare since my last blog post in November, and believe it or not, she thinks she might even love it more because it has CHANGED HER HAIR.
Yes.
That’s what I said too.
She’s only used it less than a month and already sees a dramatic difference. Where my hair is very thick, my mom’s has always been thin, and she told me that she will never not use these hair products. #micdrop
Here’s what I do: Shampoo, then condition, get out of the shower and comb through my hair and then add a bit of the Protect & Perfect Styling Cream. At this point, I either let my hair air dry or I use my hair dryer to get it dry. Whenever I’m ready to apply heat with my curling iron or spruce up “second day hair”, I add a bit of the Smooth & Shine Hair Serum. That’s it! You can purchase the shampoo and conditioner individually or you can buy them as a “duo” (which is what I do). Right now though, it’s less expensive to buy the two separately than the duo! You’d receive the two for $43.40 when bought separately, while the bundle is $49.
So, don’t forget, right now, everything is 30% off site-wide at Colleen Rothschild Beauty with code CYBER.
Thank you, Colleen Rothschild Beauty for partnering with me today on this Merry Monday! I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again…I truly, truly think that in my 42 years, both my skin and my hair have never felt healthier. These products are hydrating, moisturizing, cleansing, smell lovely and leaving me feeling like my best self. It’s no wonder my mama is a fan too 🙂 .
Speaking of being a fan of things…
…I am a huge fan of of these people. We were on the square Friday night too (two nights in a row!) for dinner and shopping at the ski shop. Geez, I love them. Please note Teen Boy in the photo 😉 .
It’s just THE MERRIEST time of the year in McKinney!
One last thing for your Monday…
…I have the EASIEST MEAL PLANNING MONDAY because no one has time for complicated right now.
Merry Monday, friends! I hope you have the BEST start to your week! xx

Do you have a link to the Christmas plaid placemats on your kitchen table?
Mix and Match Mama says
I do not. They are really old (but I still love them!).

Such a festive weekend!

Hi Shay! Have you shared your gift exchange items with your girlfriends yet? Mine is next week and I’m desperate for new ideas!
Mix and Match Mama says
We did it two weeks ago! Agh, I need to share what everyone gave. I don’t have pics, but I’m going to make a note to hopefully add it to tomorrow’s post!
SS says
This is for Smith…
Get in those pix… you will NEVER regret having pix with your family….until you can’t!! Trust me before you know it… you and Miss K will be so busy that pix will be even fewer!!!
We have had 2 teen boys (they are older now)…trust me, I would try to take pix and would just take some they didn’t know I took. We have looked at pix years later and they say, “Mom, I’m so glad you took that pic ”
Shay,…this phase will pass. Our boys know how important pix are…they let me take pix now or just say can you take a pic!! Just keep snapping pix!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Just so your mama heart is not worried, he gets in all of my photos…he just removes himself from ones I might/will post. I always ask all four kiddos before I post any of their pics, and since he opts out so often, he’ll stick his thumb in for grins. As a mom though, I have pics from that night with his sweet face, so do not worry about that!
Sue Wilcox says
Does your mom have a blog for me to follow? I would love to read about her life and style?
Mix and Match Mama says
Awwww! She doesn’t but you can find her on Instagram! @loweinteriors 🙂
Laura C says
I am new to Colleen Rothschild but so far I am pleased with everything! Question though, as a 60 year old Mimi, I struggle with under eye puffiness and dark circles. Which CR product do you think would help best?
Thanks!!!!!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s truly such a game changing brand. I would for sure recommend the retionl supreme eye serum. I use it every single day!
Laura C says
You are the best!!! Ordering it now! 😉
Leslie says
Teen Boy in the photo is my favorite thing about this post. That made me LOL!!
Mix and Match Mama says
He’s such a ham!

Hey Shay! My husband and I came to McKinney on Saturday. We had lunch at The Yard, did some shopping, enjoyed the parade, and had dinner at Cadillac Pizza where we saw you and your family. Thank you for all of your wonderful suggestions. We had a great day!
Mix and Match Mama says
No way?! I wish I would have met you!! I’m SO HAPPY you visited our little town!
Jammie Hahn says
Can you expand on how your mom thinks the CR products have changed her hair? I have thin hair too, but it is also curly and tends to be frizzy, and I blow dry it straight. I’d love to hear which products she is using and how it has affected her hair.
Mix and Match Mama says
My mom uses all five of CR hair products (so the four I use plus she also uses the mask).
Kim S. says
Hi. I have fine hair too. What Colleen Rothschild hair products does your mom use? Thanks!
Mix and Match Mama says
She uses the four I use (linked in the post) but also the mask as well. I have not tried the mask yet.
Kristen says
Do you have your red and white fleece link?
Mix and Match Mama says
Yes! It comes in a lot of other colors and is on sale right now too 🙂 . https://shopstyle.it/l/b5y3G

Apple Watch question… I have just scanned your apple watch reviews. One of our daughters purchased a FitBit and loved it for a while. She has had to send it back for a replacement and it just has not worked well. Which is your favorite and which is your least favorite? (i’m thinking the 5 for least) I’m not very techie when it comes to those products but this is about the only thing she is asking for.
Mix and Match Mama says
My opinion has always been to get the newest one offered. With each new watch, the upgrades have been significant to the technology or the actual physical watch is different (slimmer, larger screen, etc). I love my 7. This is the longest I’ve had an Apple Watch, and I really love it. I hate to tell you to get a 5 since I’ve had two upgraded versions since my 5.
Debbie E says
Ok, my fine hair is in need of help. I ordered the shampoo and conditioner. I hope I have the success you and your mom have! All of the reviews sound promising. Keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the tip
Diane says
Tell your mom this grandma from Waco is trying the hair products based on her recommendation —holiday blessings to your family 🎄!
Mix and Match Mama says
And to yours!!
Natalie says
Love your lip color, Shay! What brand and shade? Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
It’s three things, and I’m loving them all!
Pencil: Mary Kay Pink Nude Liner
Lipstick: Mary Kay Love Me Pink
Gloss: MAC Oyster Girl
Alisha says
Impatiently waiting to hear what Ashby’s bucket list item was from this weekend!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Oh my goodness, she went to her first NFL game! She was SO EXCITED!! She legit told us this fall that her bucket list was to see the Northern Lights and go to an NFL game, so we were happy to at least check one off 😉 .

I’ve been using CR products for over four years – there hasn’t been a product I haven’t fallen in love with. In addition to the products you mentioned, I also highly recommend the glycolic acid peel pads for those of us in our 60s, and the illuminating tinted eye cream. At least once a week, someone asks me what I use for skin care products – just “hooked” the pastor I work with up and her first order ships this week 🙂
