You guys, I’ve been sharing this little idea (and recipe!) with you for YEARS, and it is PERFECT for summer!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve entertained during the warmer weather months and served my INDIVIDUAL BANANA PUDDING JARS as dessert. It’s the BEST dessert idea for so many reasons:
1: You need to make these in advance (perfect for entertaining!)
2: You don’t have to worry about extra dessert plates as people enjoy these right out of the jar.
3: These are individually portioned, so it’s easy to know exactly how much dessert to make for your party.
4: When you add the lid, these stack in a cooler and are easy to transport and share outdoors!
5: They’re DELICIOUS!!!
Honestly? I could go on, but whether you’re hosting an informal party or a fancier summer affair, these just work. You can use any size jar you love, but right now, I’m super into using the little 4oz jars for entertaining. Plus bonus, these can easily be made gluten-free with a g-free wafer cookie. Easy as that 🙂 .

Description
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve entertained during the warmer weather months and served my INDIVIDUAL BANANA PUDDING JARS as dessert. It’s the PERFECT dessert for so many reasons:
1: You need to make these in advance (perfect for entertaining!)
2: You don’t have to worry about extra dessert plates as people enjoy these right out of the jar.
3: These are individually portioned, so it’s easy to know exactly how much dessert to make for your party.
4: When you add the lid, these stack in a cooler and are easy to transport and share outdoors!
5: They’re DELICIOUS!!!
Ingredients
-
1 large instant vanilla pudding, not prepared (we use gf-friendly)
-
3 cups milk
-
1 (14 oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
-
1 (12 oz) Cool Whip, thawed a bit
-
1 box Nilla Wafer Cookies (or a g-free substitute)
-
2-3 bananas, sliced (when I make it for my hubby, I just leave the bananas out…some people aren’t banana people)
- As many individual jars as you need! I was able to get 2 dozen puddings out of the 4 oz size jars.
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine pudding mix (do not prepare per box) and milk with a whisk. Next, whisk in sweetened condensed milk and Cool Whip.
- In your individual jars, layer cookies, a few banana slices and some pudding mixture. Repeat until you reach the top and then secure the lids.
- Keep puddings refrigerated until you’re ready to serve. (The longer they sit in the refrigerator, the better they taste…sometimes as long as 3 days.)
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure you’re stirring in the dry pudding mix and not preparing it beforehand.
