On Tuesday night, we had dinner at The Sister Ship here on Nantucket and my chicken…
…had a hot honey on it which was DIVINE!
I LOVE a hot honey.
Needless to say, as soon as I’m back in McKinney, I’m going to Trader Joe’s to buy me a fresh bottle of…
…their spicy hot honey sauce (it’s great on charcuterie boards too!).
If you’re into a spicy hot honey, today’s burger is for you! It takes three of my favorite things and adds them to a burger…bacon (yes!), bleu cheese (yes!) and hot honey (yes, yes!). We can also find hot honey at our local grocery store, but if you can’t find it, it’s fine to use regular honey. What is hot honey? It’s a spicy honey that pairs perfectly with charcuterie boards and even burgers 🙂 .
Fire up the grill tonight and get your burgers on.
Happy grilling! xx
PrintHot Honey & Bleu Bacon Burgers
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 6 minutes
- Total Time: 16 minutes
- Yield: 4 burgers 1x
Description
A very flavorful burger that’s super easy to assemble!
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground beef
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- about 2 tablespoons of your favorite steak seasoning
- two pieces of crispy bacon per burger (we use turkey bacon)
- a handful of bleu cheese crumbles per burger
- a drizzle of spicy hot honey (or regular if your store doesn’t carry it)
- a handful of torn basil leaves
- 4 burger buns
Instructions
- Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan over medium-high heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine your ground beef, Worcestershire sauce and steak seasoning together.
- Divide this mixture into four sections and make four patties (make sure to press down each patty a little in the center to avoid the “burger bulge” when they grill).
- Add your burger patties to the grill and begin grilling (we do about 6 minutes or so each side).
- Next, it’s time to assemble! Bun plus your crispy bacon on the bottom, burger patty, bleu cheese, torn basil leaves and a drizzle of your hot honey.
Notes
If your store doesn’t carry a spicy honey, feel free to substitute with a regular one. We use gluten-free buns to keep this recipe gf friendly.
