Happy Thursday, friends!
It’s another Spring Break RECAP!
If you missed my post yesterday, make sure you go back and read RECAP #1.
In that post, I shared our first three days on St. Thomas (gorgeous!), so make sure you read that one as well to see where we stayed, where we ate and what we did.
Today, we pick up right where we left off.
We woke up on Wednesday morning, checked out of our hotel on St. Thomas, and headed to…
…the dock to board the private ferry over to Lovango Resort and Beach Club 🙂 .
I know that I said this last year, but I’m going to say it AGAIN, our lovely friends Mark and Gwenn Snider own The Nantucket Hotel and The Winnetu Resort on Martha’s Vineyard. We have known them for years and absolutely ADORE them. Last year, we finally made it to their private island resort off of St. John for the day while we were on our cruise, and we immediately fell in love. In October, we booked it for this Spring Break, and it truly was the highlight of our trip. (FYI, my travel agency can book it for you too!)
Last year, I wrote this about Mark on my post:
I say all of that to say, not only is he super friendly and humble, but he must clone himself because he is ALWAYS where we happen to be. We walked into Winnetu one day and Mark was there behind the desk working. I have been inside The Nantucket Hotel a gazillion times and…Mark is always there. When we pulled up here on his private island to see Lovango, his newest resort, guess who met us at the boat? Mark!
That was last year…
…this year, we walked up to board the ferry and guess who was also waiting to board? MARK! I took this selfie with Mades on the ferry ride over and happened to catch Mark behind us talking to Andrew. I truly think there must be four of him. When Smith and I were on Nantucket earlier this week, The Nantucket Hotel was closed, but I promise you, had it been open, Mark would have been inside. 😉
After about a 10 minute boat ride from St. Thomas, we arrived…
…and we were ready to settle in and enjoy our last five nights.
Blue water and sunny skies? Yes, please!
The first thing we did was check in…
…this is a very small resort island with only a handful of rooms. I booked the villa for our family which gave us plenty of room.
Views from the villa. All of the rooms are ocean facing.
There is a resort pool, but the villa came with one as well.
We immediately grabbed lunch and hit the beach and pool area for the rest of the day.
Later that night, we cleaned up…
…oh so cute!
For our first night here, we enjoyed dinner at Lovango. It was DELICIOUS!
Just the cutest, right?
Dinner outside with my favorite five is always one of my favorite things.
Day one on Lovango was a HUGE hit!

Shay – I’ve submitted 2 requests over 2 weeks ago for someone to contact me about a Disney vacation and no one has responded. Is this the typical level of service?
Mix and Match Mama says
Hi Kim! I found your email, and we have been trying to reach you since you emailed on the 28th. My guess is that the emails are in your spam/junk folder. I am going to email you again right now. Please check your spam/junk if you don’t see it in your inbox.

Lovango looks beautiful, wow! Just out of curiosity, how much (roughly) does staying at a villa there cost? Wondering if it’s within reach for my family if we plan and save for it. Would love to hear more about the costs and logistical details – is food included like an AI or is that separate?
Mix and Match Mama says
These are all great questions and you know my travel agency would love to help you get the answers to those details. Pricing varies by time of year across the board pretty much no matter where you travel, so what it costs the week of Christmas is probably much different than what it costs the last week in June. This is not an all inclusive, so the food was out of pocket. Our villa had a full kitchen, so we had groceries delivered and made our own breakfasts each morning, but you certainly could make all of your meals there. The ferry ride to St. John was only 10 minutes, so it was easy to hop over there for other things as well (which you’ll see in upcoming posts).

Can’t wait to read more! Going in July, I was so excited to read your recap!

Hi Shay,
This resort is absolutely stunning! Could you include more pictures of the inside of the villa? And does the resort take up the entire little Island? I have been to St John, but it was 20 years ago and I don’t believe this resort was there yet.
By far, one of the most gorgeous places you have posted on here. Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
This resort is on its own private island (it’s really small). I didn’t take any other interior pics of the villa or I would have posted them. Sometimes, I’m good at take pics…other times, I’m not so great at it.
Alisha says
Random, but can you share where your pink heart necklace is from in the pic of you and Madley? looks like something my daughter would love!
Mix and Match Mama says
Of course! It’s Kendra Scott 🙂 .
Lauren Palomo says
Shay, I know you’re friends with the owners of this resort and I just read a great article a local Mom’s network wrote on Gwen and her family business. So incredible what they’ve built! Sharing it here: https://thelocalmomsnetwork.com/little-gem-founder-family-travel/
Finally making it to the Nantucket Hotel this year for vacation. You’ve inspired me. I can’t wait!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank you so much for sharing. You will LOVE The Nantucket! It’s gorgeous and the service impeccable.
