This year, my favorite day falls on…Labor Day.

My mom recently painted and refreshed a back bedroom. In doing so, she took these items off a little wall she had and brought them over to me…
…they are two little houses that she bought on our very first trip to Nantucket back in 1996.
One is a traditional Nantucket home…
And the other…
…is a little Sconset rose cottage. My favorite part though…
…is my mom’s handwriting on the back with the date from that first trip 🙂 .
Who knew? WHO KNEW how special that little island would become to our family and that THIRTY years later, I would be treasuring these little items.
Just so so cool.
A sweet little favorite of mine this week has been…
…my new little cordless lamp for my desk. I often sit at my desk when it’s dark out and don’t want harsh overhead lights, so I bought this lamp for $11 at Hobby Lobby and…
…it has brought me endless joy this week 🙂 .
I bought THIS SWEATSHIRT at Old Navy this week and love it! It comes in so many other colors (including a “driftwood” that looked like fall), but the bright yellow spoke to my heart.
A COMFY SWEATSHIRT + COMFY SHORTS= my current “end of August” uniform.
Basically, if you look like “fall”, I’m here for it this week…

Of course…
…this was a favorite of mine this week!! My morning Starbucks run just got so much BETTER!
My neighborhood grocery store has a Starbucks inside, and this week, they were on their “fall A-game”…
…I came home with a new Swig, a pumpkin candle, and a pumpkin magazine. Truly, this is my happiness. I am GIDDY right now.
Just perfect 🙂 .
One last fun find came as an unexpected blessing yesterday morning. Ashby’s school is 30 minutes from our house, so when we pulled up at 6:45 AM yesterday morning for her cross country practice, you can imagine our surprise when no one was there. I checked my email and the night before, the coach had cancelled practice (that’s what I get for trying to ‘unplug’…sigh). We were too far away to go back home, so what did we do to kill the next 90 minutes? We got pumpkin drinks at Starbucks and then went to Walmart and bought ourselves…
…these super fun HALLOWEEN PAJAMA SHORTS! Aren’t they so cute? You get two to a pack for only $13. I bought the PSL/jack-o-lantern pair and Ashby got the ghost/purple star pair. They are freakishly soft and make us freakishly happy 🙂 .
Best part of my day?
Those 90 minutes spending one on one time with my sweet girl.

You guys, it’s a BIG BIG day at the Shull’s house!
Tonight…
…these two middle schoolers will be on the VARSITY football field! I’m not sure how it happened, but Andrew and I blinked and all of a sudden, we have a varsity cheerleader and a varsity football player. Our fall will be extra extra fun this year 🙂 . We have two different high schools to cover (with two conflicting schedules), but we made a game plan for the season and starting tonight, it’s FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS IN TEXAS! The Shull six could not be more excited. We wait all year for football season!
Okay, don’t forget, I will be back here on MONDAY because it’s MY FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR!

How fun?! Okay, I would bring a chicken Caesar salad. You can even use the chicken from a rotisserie chicken at the grocery store. I think a Caesar always pairs perfectly with pizza 🙂 .

It’s funny how the little things can make one so happy -our Costco has their big huge beautiful mums out for fall and I bought a few for my porch. Literally every time I walk by I am Giddy looking at them through the window. My husband thinks I’m nuts, but I’m okay finding joy in ALL the things 😉

First day of school was this week. Kiddo and I had a half hour before we had to pick up nephew, so we went to a local coffee place and picked up cider (they had back to school specials, too). We also picked blueberries and apples in the same day!!!
This morning is 46!! Supposed to be beautiful a for this long weekend!! Have fun under the LIGHTS tonight!!! Happy Labor Day weekend!!!

Love those darling plaques-treasures for sure! I decorated for fall early so it’d be done before our newest grandson arrived. He was born on Wednesday a week early, so our Labor Day weekend will include no labor at all ☺️ but a lot of family time, football, food and fun! So grateful!
