‘Tis apple time, friends!
One of our very very favorite ways to enjoy apples is making my AUTUMN APPLESAUCE. Not only does it only require four ingredients, but the slow cooker does all of the work. Bonus, your house will smell delicious the entire time it’s bubbling away.
Whether you eat this for by itself for breakfast or a snack, over granola, or even ice cream, it’s the perfect way to kick off September.
Happy Apple Season! xx

Description
‘Tis apple time, friends! One of our very very favorite ways to enjoy apples is making my AUTUMN APPLESAUCE. Not only does it only require four ingredients, but the slow cooker does all of the work. Bonus, your house will smell delicious the entire time it’s bubbling away.
Ingredients
- 8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced into chunks (I typically use Honeycrisp, Gala or Macintosh)
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- 1½ tablespoons cinnamon
Instructions
- In your slow cooker, combine all 4 ingredients, cover and cook on low 7 to 8 hours or on high 4 hours.
- Remove lid from slow cooker and using a hand mixer, lightly mix the ingredients until they resemble the consistency you like (I like my applesauce a little chunky). You could also pour the ingredients in a food processor and pulse until you reach your desired consistency.
- Serve warm or cold.
Notes
This makes about 4 cups of applesauce and keeps in your fridge up to 3 days.

Oooh I can’t wait to try this! Your slow cooker apple butter recipe is my go to this time of year. I always say I could just eat it with a spoon, but now I can make this applesauce and be more civilized. Ha!

Shay,
I love making applesauce in tht Crock-Pot!!! I use apple cider from where we get the apples from. We are lucky we have an apple orchard about 15 mins from us. They have so many varieties and we mix them. It makes the house so yummy and fall like. Plus you can make it chunky or smooth. Our kiddos love when I make the the super easy pumpkin muffins when the weather starts to turn. (Which will be after today…low 60s and drizzle)

I make this all year. LOVE it! It freezes well also. I have some in the freezer now. As weird as it sounds, I have it as a side sometimes, especially when I fix pork chops. It reminds me of my childhood. Growing up almost every time we had pork chops, we had cooked apples similar to this. It is also great with scrambled eggs.
