Happy happy Tuesday, friends!
I’m having a REALLY GREAT start to my week because yesterday, I left to take my amazing team on a trip to Walt Disney World!
You guys, I’ve said this before, but it’s certainly worth repeating, the nine women who work with me are absolute ROCKSTARS. Each year, we create over 1400 custom vacations which means, we send upwards of 10,000 people on vacation in one year. The ten of us handle all the details and responsibilities that come with sending clients on vacation LITERALLY 365 days a year because we absolutely LOVE what we do. What’s the best way for me to reward my amazing travel team? Taking them on a trip 🙂 .
Each year, we try and hit a new location, but this year, they all wanted to go back to Walt Disney World (something we did about 4 years ago), so off we went yesterday to the most magical place on Earth to get an extra dose of Christmas magic in as we celebrate another outstanding year.
While we’re in Disney this week, don’t worry, we are still open and taking care of our amazing clients. Should you need a last minute trip this year or if you’re ready to start planning for 2026, we’ll help you from Disney.
I am so grateful for these women, and without a doubt, THEY ARE THE KEY TO MY SUCCESS. I could not do what I do each day without Erika, Clare, Brooke, Hannah, Caroline, Jane, Mackenzie, Shanna, and Whitney. I am so very grateful for them all.
Alrighty, for today’s TRAVEL TUESDAY post, I have PART ONE OF OUR TRIP TO BUDAPEST, HUNGARY last week!
Settle in for some pics, friends 🙂 .
Last Saturday afternoon, Andrew and I kissed the kiddos goodbye and headed off to the airport…

…to fly from Dallas to Madrid to Budapest.
Budapest, Hungary has been on our bucket list for YEARS, so we were very, very anxious to finally check it off. When Kensington and Smith were little bitty (5 months and one), we visited Hungary, but didn’t make it to Budapest, so this was the trip to finally see this beautiful capital city.
One long flight later…

…and we landed in Madrid. And then one shorter flight later and…

…we landed in Budapest.
We grabbed our luggage, located our driver and were off.
We stayed at the gorgeous Four Seasons Gresham Palace in Budapest. I had sent so many clients to this hotel (including Andrew’s parents), so I was really anxious to stay there myself. It was perfect…

Not only was our room gorgeous but…

…look at the view from our balcony! Holy cow, there’s the Danube!

Just the best.

After 24 hours of traveling, we were tired, dirty and hungry, so we cleaned up and headed out for a little walk…

…to wake us up a bit, stretch our legs and see beautiful Budapest…

After our walk…

…we had dinner reservations at the gorgeous restaurant inside our hotel…

It was the perfect way to start our trip.
That’s just the beginning. Truly, this was one of our very favorite cities to explore. I can’t wait to show you the rest. In the meantime, I’m going to head out to Walt Disney World today with my team. We have a VIP tour today which I am SO excited about. We send clients on VIP tours all the time, but this is my very first one. We will be posting details and pics as we travel this week. Don’t forget, you can reach out to us HERE for more information on your vacation planning too. There’s a reason our agency works with so many clients (many of whom are repeat customers and referrals). We take great pride in what we do, and we would love to help you too.
Before I leave you today, I am also sharing perhaps my favorite THANKSGIVING SIDE DISH today as well (my grandmother’s recipe!), so make sure you check that out too.
Have the best Tuesday, friends! I will see you back here tomorrow. I’m blogging all week 🙂 ! xx

Your team is currently helping us plan our trip to Europe. Excited to follow along as you travel through Europe and also to see your Disney Christmas trip!
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank YOU so much, Susan. We are so blessed to work with YOU!

How do you have the budget for these trips? I love following your adventures, but also know that no average person could take any of these trips, much less all of these trips, so it’s a bit depressing sometimes.
Mix and Match Mama says
We save, budget and plan for them. Andrew and I have done that since day one of our marriage. Even when we were 22 and just starting out, we would prioritize and save for travel. We continue all these years later. If following along on my travels is depressing to you, you shouldn’t follow. Fill your life with what fills you up. I wouldn’t want to read things that brought me down. I hope to inspire and encourage women, but if you’re not feeling that way, step away. xx

How long is the flight?
Mix and Match Mama says
DFW to Madrid was 8ish hours and then about two and half-ish to Budapest.
Patti says
Beautiful! Makes me want to go! I’ll be sure to reach out when we can. For future planning information, can you give a estimate and time your trip covered? Thank you so much.

I loved Budapest and The Four Seasons. Jack Ryan season 4 was shot on location there. We had some of the most interesting cocktails in that city too. Looking forward to your adventures.

We loved our beautiful small traditional Buda-side inn, decorated traditionally with so many exquisite comforts and amenities. We felt we were in a fairytale, and yet just steps-away from the cathedral, amazing art museum, funicular and the local-frequented restaurants and pastry shops. I love that we may all travel with a different focus or purpose (we’re immersion-focused), but because we travel we each come away with such great memories and understandings.. You do a great service making travel accessible.

Budapest looks beautiful at night. Can’t wait to hear all about it because that’s on my bucket list too.

Would you do a review of Iberia airlines? I’m thinking of using them for a trip to Spain next year, but their website is troublesome. I usually use my points for the airfare. Thank you
Mix and Match Mama says
We only used it for that short (2ish hour) intercontinental flight, but they were great!
Robyn says
I absolutely love following you with all of your travels. Thank you for always sharing so many neat photos.
And, your sweet potato casserole is one of my favorite dishes…anytime of the year. 🙂

Perfect timing for this series. My son is headed to Budapest in February for a study abroad semester!

Beautiful!!! Do they speak English in Budapest?
Mix and Match Mama says
They speak Hungarian…but so many of them spoke English as well. We didn’t run into any situations with a language barrier.

Budapest is our final destination on our 14 day Avalon Waterways River cruise scheduled for August 2027. I am so excited to explore that city! The pics you shared at night are beautiful! We discovered Avalon on our own back in 2023 and booked an 8 night cruise for August this year and absolutely loved it! The ship, captain, crew, service, food, drinks, wine, and excursions were amazing! Booked the one in 2027 shortly after returning home. 😊
Mix and Match Mama says
You are going to LOVE Avalon Waterways!

Your team truly is the best! Erica and Jane helped us organize my family’s trip to Disney last Christmas. It was a surprise for my kids and it gave my brother and sister the opportunity to spend Christmas with us even though they live far away. The trip was such an amazing experience. Both women went above and beyond to make our experience as pleasant as possible. We are already eager to get our next trip planned and will absolutely be using Mix and Match Travel! Thanks so much for all you do. 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
Thank YOU so much for letting us be a part of your vacation. We are SO grateful!

WOW! Y’ALLS ROOM! And your dinner looked amazing. Can’t wait to see the rest.
