What am I doing this weekend? Well, LOTS of festive things. I am very excited about all the fun we have planned. That being said…
…this is my #1 priority this Saturday.

Remember when I said some nonsense like I wanted to be done Christmas shopping early this season for my mental wellness? Well, basically, I was full of crap. I am not quite done and clearly haven’t started unboxing and wrapping. I must conquer this TODAY!

My workout partner this week is quite lazy…
…but goodness, he’s oh so CUTE!
Every time we work out, he sleeps while I work 😉 .
I mean, this photo is silly because I’m indoors BUT…
…I bought these “dupe designer sunglasses” and thought they were so cute! I paired them (outdoors!) with my SWEATER, JEANS, and MULES.
They come in many different colors (mine are “brown tortoise”) and really cute especially for only $13.
If you are ever on McKinney’s downtown square, you must must stop by…
…Sharla’s! It is the CUTEST boutique on the square owned by the most adorable woman in McKinney.
Sharla’s has been in McKinney for years and years (since before we moved here in 2006), and it’s always a happy place to shop.
I stopped by this week to pick up a few gifts and got excited when I saw my shopping sack…
…Sharla has adorable sacks year around, but they are especially adorable during the holiday season. Sharla has everything from coffee table books to beauty, candles, jewelry (both costume and high end), and a wonderful assortment of gifts. Love.

I’ve so enjoyed your Saturday posts, Shay! I’m already looking forward to a recap next year of where you guys will be headed, what your plans will be over the Christmas break.
I too set out this season with “I’m going to take care of everything early this year (emphasis on that “everything” aka wrapping) and for once, have time to spare in December”. HA. Now that my kids are grown, I was so excited to be able to place all my deliveries/boxes in the spare room, versus our closet. However…what I soon realized is that when things were in my space/my closet, I would wrap sooner, be better at keeping up. So here we are, time is a ticking and everything is just piled in that spare room. It’s a snowy, cold, no-need-to-leave-the-house-day here in the Midwest, so guess I’m out of excuses to get that done!
How thankful am I though to have this task to work on. My life is blessed. And one of my joys in my life is this community you have built where we share things like this, Shay. So thank you to you for the joy you bring into our lives with your blog. Blessings to you and your family this holiday season!

Charlie is so adorable! I love how your doggies are your little companions at home, so sweet! Also your snowman Christmas tree in your office is very cute, that topper makes it! Your agency is handling my spring break trip to Paris and I couldn’t be happier! They really do take care of all the details and make the trip stress free! I am cozy in my Target pajamas that you recommended. Love these pajamas!
I do less wrapping of presents and put almost everything in Christmas gift bags. The bags look just as pretty under the tree.

A couple years back I switched to reusable Christmas bags. I really hated wrapping and the bags are festive. Plus there’s no trash when you’re done. I wish I had thought of that years ago.

Enjoy the light parade with your family! We went to a concert at our church last night, and we were going to attend a concert at another local church tonight, but we are under a winter storm warning! We are enjoying sitting by the Christmas tree (with a football game on) while I check all the details in my Christmas 2025 notebook and see what else I need to do!

I wonder if my artist friend did the art on those bags? I think she has a gallery or studio downtown there. (There was a fire next to her a while back) Her name is Kim Guthrie. She’s very good at whimsical art. She has done paintings of people’s houses also! We were neighbors in Greenville mississippi!!

Oh, Happy Christmas Season!! 🎄 Have you or your crew watched “Gingerbread Land – The Biggest Little Holiday Competition” at all this year? It’s a four part show on Magnolia Network/ Food Network, and it’s amazing to see what they do and a fun holiday watch for sure!!! I feel like the bakers in your house would love it! OK i have to know if calling a bag a “sack” is a Texas thing?! I’ve noticed you’ve called brown paper bags “sacks” before and i’m so interested if this is regional! I’m from Florida, but live in NY and i don’t think I’ve ever heard a shopping bag called a shopping sack!
Regional words (coke vs pop, etc) are fascinating to me, so I’m interested to find out if this is one of them 🙂
