Welcome! If you’re new to this page, we are SO EXCITED you’re here.
In 2023, I decided to do The Bible Recap again, but this time, with a group!
I completed The Bible Recap for the first time in 2022 and even though it was my third time to read through the entire Bible in one year, following this specific plan was life changing for me and how I read God’s word, understood God’s word and applied it to my life.
I blogged about my experience 100 days in HERE, but now that I’ve completed my journey, I wanted to share a few other things and explain this group to you.
1. First and foremost, everyone should visit Tara-Leigh Cobble’s website for all the information. She is the author and founder of The Bible Recap and truly, that’s where you should start. I would love to have you be a part of this group, but regardless, I hope you try it this year, and her site is the best place to get the information.
2. I played around with different ways of “doing” TBR in 2022 and realized that for me, the best way to do it was to read each day’s passages and then listen to The Bible Recap podcast on Apple. Each episode is only about 8 minutes long, and even though I loved reading her words in The Bible Recap book, I enjoyed hearing her read it aloud every day even more. Not only could I really get a good sense from where she emphasized things, but this allowed me to take notes in my TBR Journal during each episode. Now, I have a year full of notes along with my personal prayer requests in one journal. She has all of these resources on her website.
3. in 2023, i created this group so that i could “recap” every day with my friends online. I followed along the same way: read the passages daily, listened to her podcast, looked over my journal and prayer requests from the previous year but then also, I completed her Study Guide…which for me was even more life changing as I read through the bible. I strongly, strongly encourage you all to buy the study guide as well.
4. now that this is my third time to do the bible recap, here is my suggestion to you: mAKE SURE YOU HAVE A COPY OF GOD’S WORD (I USE THIS BIBLE OR YOU CAN EVEN USE THE BIBLE APP ON YOUR PHONE), LISTEN TO HER PODCAST each day AND then COMPLETE THE STUDY GUIDE. I THINK THOSE THREE THINGS RIGHT THERE WILL ABSOLUTELY GIVE YOU THE BEST EXPERIENCE.
Okay, but what about this group?
I enjoyed doing The Bible Recap on my own, but what’s better than studying God’s word alone? Studying it with friends! I started an Instagram account called @mmmbiblerecap in 2023, and it was such a blessing to “Recap” with a group every day. It was encouraging, uplifting, and helped me stay consistent. Since I feel like most of us are constantly scrolling through Instagram and Stories every day, this will be a good place for us to get a daily reminder to stop and read God’s word, easily share the account with friends and should you miss a day or not start on January 1st, an easy way to pick right back up where you left off. Plus, hopefully, this will be a fabulous way to meet and connect with other people reading through the Bible this year.
I want a space for us to share the scripture every single day and then we can “like” each post after we’ve completed and it comment with any prayer requests/praises/thoughts/questions/encouragements. This is simply a place to remind us to read our Bible daily and pray for one another. I will label each day 1, 2, 3, etc all the way to 365. If you start on January 1st, start with day 1 but if you don’t start until July 16, still scroll down and start with Day 1. No matter when you begin or if you miss days here and there, start at the beginning and work your way through in order and not by date.
I was so blessed by our group in 2023 and cannot wait to read through God’s word with even more of you in 2024. I am so excited to do this again!
