Growing up, my mom was always taking my brother Sean and me on “adventures”. An adventure was when she would put us in the back of the car, hand us a drink and we’d run errands. Since my mom is an interior designer, these adventures were often to fabric stores, furniture stores and wallpaper stores…you have no idea how many times we were plopped down in front of wallpaper books and told to flip through. I think this explains mine and my brother’s passion for decorating our own homes…even Sean has a particular taste and opinion about interior design.
I remember these adventures fondly. My mom would turn on the 70s light rock and quiz us on who was singing what (how many other 28 year olds can identify a Bread song???). Even though we were just running errands, she made it special. And I still like to go on adventures with my mom…all of these years later.
For some reason, having two kids has brought out the “adventure” in our house. When it was just me and Kensington, we were running errands, but now that Smith is in the mix, I’ve started calling them adventures. I pile them into the car and we head to Hobby Lobby, Target, the lighting store…you name it. They have been such good sports! I hope that 28 years from now, my kids look back on these adventures with great memories too. Here are a few pics from our recent outings.

Here's one 29-year-old who can name every popular Bread song there is! In fact, I was named after one. 🙂 We have some weird similarities, friend.
Thank you so much for the prayers for my family. Love to the Shulls.
