My sister-in-law Gretchen made this dip for us at Christmas and it was love at first bite. It’s fresh, tart, sweet…everything you’ll love combined. I could have eaten it with a spoon…so delish. Thanks Gretch!
Shopping List
2 Granny Smith Apples, sliced into big pieces (I left the skin on )
1 kiwi, peeled and coarsely chopped
1 cup strawberry jam or preserves
1 orange (you’re going to use the juice and the zest)
1 heaping tablespoon of apple butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
cinnamon pita chips or graham crackers for dipping
In the bowl of your food processor, pulse apples, kiwi and strawberry jam together. Stir in the zest off your orange, then cut your orange and squeeze in the juice. Stir in brown sugar and apple butter. Chill covered until ready to serve.
I only put one and a half apples in the food processor. I took the other half of an apple and chopped it up, then I stirred it in at the end. It gave the dip a little more texture which I liked. Either way, you can’t go wrong. My kids loved this!
I like to eat my dip with cinnamon pita chips :).
