I’m so excited to be sharing my testimony today over on Kelly’s Korner! Make sure you click here to read how God has changed and is changing my life. (Thank goodness!)
And then just for grins…some pics for your day…
Ebby Lee and Kensington showed up at school on October 1 wearing the same shirts :). Erika and I think so much alike!
Kensington was fitted for her very first recital costume. It brings back so many memories of me when I was her age. So sweet!
My dad went night camping last week in Colorado (where you hike during the night and nap during the day). My mom and I both told him that was the dumbest thing we’d ever heard and said probably 538 times that a bear would eat him. Then last week on Face Book, I saw this quote and it made me laugh.
I found them like this. I swear. Two peas in a pod :).
I had these signs made for the new house. I love, love, love them! (And right now, my sign girl doesn’t make signs for anyone else but me…but I’m trying to convince her to allow me to share her info with you…I’ll keep you posted!)
Tomorrow’s Shade of Shay is how I prepare my grocery list! Speaking of which…dinner tonight is Apple Chicken Meat Balls…
And don’t forget my Rodan + Fields giveaway this week!

shay, I cried reading your testimony. I won't get into the details but I know God is calling my family and I to do something mighty but fear has a firm grip on my husband. I'm praying that he step out and like you said, go! God is moving in him though so I'm staying faithful. Thanks for sharing your testimony!

What a beautiful, honest post. You are an inspiration as you go on this journey to expand your family. "Are you going to just sit back and take it or are you going to do something with it?"really resonates with me as I am wondering the same for myself. I remember sitting in a hospital bed praying toGod that if He could get me through a very painful and drawn out miscarriage and allow us to have just one more child I would never ask for anything else and be open to changing our plans for our family. Now that I have two healthy children and life is starting to get easy I find myself reliving that moment of prayer and feel like now is the time for me to give back…but what that means for me and my family I just don't know yet.

Do you mind sharing or can you yet, what is Ashby's disability? I ask because I am a mother of a child of Special Needs. I find it most humbling that your family is open and willing to embrace a child with Special Needs. It takes special and obedient hearts.

I loved reading your testimony Shay! You are such a neat and inspirational person. Also, I LOVE the signs that your friend made. She should really consider doing them for other people. I bet she would have alot of requests for them. She could start up her own business. Finally, Kensington and Smith's Halloween shirts are so CUTE!!! 🙂

Shay,
Loved the post, thanks for sharing! Quick question: I was wondering how you know the child you are adopting is a girl already? I was confused if there was a child already picked out for you, or if you requested a girl. Also, totally not related nor as important but I am now obsessed with sweet cinnamon pumpkin! Thanks for the recommendation!

Oh I so feel what you are going through! What a wonderful testimony ! We are blessed with two children, a girl and a boy, that we adopted domestically. We set out on our journey knowing that God would place the children in our home that were meant to be there. It is an amazing roller coaster ride and God is always faithful!
Blessings to you on your journey!
