On the 9th Day of Christmas, I showed you how I hang my Christmas cards!  
But first…

Now…another Shull family tradition…
This is not earth shattering…but, it’s a Shull family tradition and thus, I will share it with you!
Every year, when we get our Christmas cards, we tape them on our kitchen cabinets and pantry door…
…by the end of the year, we have them covering all of the cabinets and the pantry door.  I love doing this because every single time I open a cabinet, I see my friends’ sweet faces.  I also love that it instantly makes my kitchen feel more festive.  I use Scotch tape and fold it over and stick it on the back and the paint is never damaged.  If you don’t know what to do with your cards, I suggest hanging them :).
And can you believe it’s Week 49 of the year?!?!  Here are my #shayeveryday2013 pics from Week 49!
Day 337: I hosted my annual recipe exchange!  This is my favorite party during the year!

Day 338: As we were getting out of the car, they asked if they could wrestle…I said no…and so they said they would just “hug really hard”.  I can’t win.

Day 339: I spent the day in my office while the kiddos were in school.  Starbucks Red Cup, lit candle, cozy blanket, Christmas lights, Michael Buble’s picture, cookbooks, travel books and carols on my radio…one happy girl.

Day 340: We had our first snow day of the season!  We stayed in, watched movies, made cookies, and played in the snow!  Such a wonderful day!!

Day 341: We got out in the snow and ice and visited Lovie…Kensington Cottage looked so pretty covered in snow! (And I know you’re going to ask…a close family friend…who is now retired…custom built the house for my parents.)

Day 342: We stayed in all day until it was time to run up to church to get ready for Christmas Journey!  We were happy to get out for a bit and see our friends.

Day 343: We made our annual trip to see Santa!  Such a fun evening!!

Smith was so excited about this day!  He loved seeing his tree with his undies hanging on there…that elf of ours is sure up to no good sometimes!


Today’s recipe is for the coconut lovers!  Instead of German Chocolate…it’s German White Chocolate…like little snowballs for your Christmas dessert.

Tomorrow is Friday!  Woohoo!!  Only 13 more days until Christmas!

    My dad used to hang a string going across the mantle of the fireplace (it was big – wall to wall) and put the folded cards over the string! Flat cards got taped to the basement door!

    Already have an Origami Owl necklace and get more compliments on it than almost any other necklace I wear. I would LOVE a bracelet!!

    Also, I have Celiac Disease and am not able to try a lot of you baked recipes….so really appreciated the fact that the cake pops come in a few Gluten Free options for me. I can't wait to give them a try!

    I do the exact same thing with my Christmas cards (my parents have always done it so I guess we could call it a family tradition as well), love seeing them on the kitchen cabinets every time I walk in there and everyone that comes over always loves looking at them too!

    I always hang ours over the archway going into the dining room as that's what my parents always did with theirs, but I love your idea too. I'd probably see them a lot more if they were hung up in the kitchen 🙂

    I hang my Christmas cards on my cabinet doors too! I like to put festive ribbon around the cabinet doors and then clip the cards on the ribbon with cute mini clothespins. It's such a fun way to decorate the kitchen for Christmas and really enjoy all your fun cards!

    I hang my Christmas cards on my cabinets but first I tape up some cute ribbon from top to bottom and then use clothes pins and/or tape to keep them up 🙂 I also love looking at them when using my kitchen!

    Your elf is so creative!

    I love receiving photo cards – every year we display them on a cabinet in our dining room. After Christmas, I crop out the pictures and we hang them inside our pantry door – a reminder to pray for those we love!
