Well…isn’t this just a simple little idea?
An idea that you could mix and match a million different ways!
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I made Rice Krispies Treats but instead of Rice Krispies cereal…I used Lucky Charms!
Not only was this delicious but so much fun to make with my kids! We had the best time making these together…simple and fast…only 3 ingredients required :).
Shopping List
3 tablespoons butter
5 cups marshmallows
6 cups Lucky Charms cereal
In a microwavable bowl, melt your butter (about 30 seconds or so). Once melted, add in your marshmallows and coat with melted butter. Microwave another minute and a half or so until marshmallows are melted. Remove from microwave and immediately pour over cereal. Mix well and then spread in a greased 8×8 baking dish (for the thick treats I have pictured…use a 9×13 baking dish for thinner treats). Spray a spatula with Pam and press it over the top to get the cereal to stay put in the baking dish.
Let the bars cool in the baking dish about 20 minutes before slicing into them.
Cut into squares and enjoy!
These would make the perfect little St. Patrick’s Day treats to stick in lunchboxes. Fun and simple!
This kid loved making these!
And he loved eating them!
And I love him. XOXO
