When we were in Hawaii, I ate a Pineapple Guacamole Burger and decided right then and there that we had to create our own version the minute we came home. I was unaware until that day that avocado and pineapple were soul mates. Soul. Mates.
And this doesn’t just have to be a topping for burgers…go ahead and dip some chips in there. This is a great snack or appetizer too!
Shopping List
1 pound of ground beef
2 tablespoons steak seasoning (we use Montreal Steak Seasoning)
1 avocado
1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple
1 red onion, chopped
Salt and Pepper
Burger Buns
This makes enough for 4 quarter pound burgers.
Preheat your outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium-high.
In a mixing bowl, combine your ground beef with your steak seasoning and a pinch or two of salt and pepper. Divide meat into four sections and make four patties.
Grill the burger patties 6 to 8 minutes per side or until it’s done to your likeness.
Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, mash your avocado with your can of crushed pineapple (do not drain). Stir in your chopped red onion and add a big pinch of salt.
Remove burger patties from grill and add to bun. Top each patty with some of your pineapple guacamole and serve.
It’s Friday! Let’s fire up the grill!
