I get asked all the time, “Why do you love Boston (and the Red Sox) so much?”. It’s a great question considering the fact that I’m a Texas girl.
The first time my parents took me to Boston was when I was 14…and it was love at first site. I loved the entire state actually. All the way down the Cape and over to Nantucket, I fell in love with the weather, the scenery, the people, the food and everything in between.
I didn’t pick up my passion for baseball until I was in my 20s…but boy, once I discovered it, there has been no turning back.
My dad is a huge Red Sox fan…for a variety of reasons, that is his team of choice and once I started paying attention and learning about baseball, they became my team too.
I really try and watch every single Sox game on TV (through my satellite provider, this Texas girl can pick up the New England Sports Network and catch every game).
And every year, I see anywhere from 5 to 7 games in person. I always see at least two in Boston, several in Arlington, Texas and even some in Houston.
Watching the Red Sox and traveling to Boston has been a great bonding experience for my dad and me too.
I hope my girls have at least one hobby in common with their dad too (but not baseball because my husband is a stupid cocky arrogant lousy Yankee fan and I plan on raising my girls better than that).
Boston and the Red Sox are definitely a Shade of Shay. From April through October, my heart might be in Texas but it belongs in Boston.
It’s good to have passions in life. Baseball and the Red Sox are one of mine.

Love Boston and the Rex Sox and I live in Colorado!! My husband took me to Boston about 2 years ago and honestly I wasn't very excited to go. (We were going to go to Prague, but my daughter was just one and I was worried about going so far away at that time.) Anyway, Boston just didn't seem to compare. Until I arrived and it was love at first lobster roll!! Loved everything…the history, the food, the North End and the Sox!!

Our friends Susan and Richard just spent five months living in Boston and they HATED it. Can you believe that?! It made me so sad that they disliked such an amazing city, but I'm THRILLED to have them back in England where they belong.
But Rich left his mark on Beantown — next time you're there be sure to visit his Cafe Nero! He did 100% of the design work on the first American location for this UK coffee institution and they are calling it their "North American flagship store!"

I'm Boston born & bred and totally share your love of the Red Sox! My introduction came from my grandfather who never, and I mean NEVER, missed a game in his 94 years on this earth. I think of him every time the game is on. Honestly don't know how you co-exist with a Yankee fan; you're a much better woman than me! 😉

Absolutely LOVE the Red Sox! We're headed to Boston for the 4th of July and are hitting up the day game and sitting on the Monstah' and then hitting the night game on the 5th. A pretty cool thing–my husband's grandfather used to fish with Tom Yawkey as a boy! We've been to his hunting cabin in Georgetown, SC and it shows the fields that Ted Williams used to have batting practice on, etc. Boston is such a fun town and so easy to get around and walk, see, do, eat, drink!
