We are on Bar #50!!
Woohoo! I am halfway through my quest of making my favorite 100 bars! I can’t believe I’m already to 50…this year went by so fast!
I wanted Bar number 50 to be happy like Bundt Cake #50, and when I saw this recipe by Sally’s Baking Addiction, I knew it was perfect. The only swap is that she used a yellow cake mix and I used a funfetti one…either one would work (white would work too!).
We’re halfway to 100!
Coming up really soon…my favorite bars…fall and holiday inspired ones :).
Shopping List
1 box of funfetti cake mix
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 cup white chocolate chips
about 1/2 cup of sprinkles (not black ones!)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease (I used Pam) a 9×13 baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, combine your cake mix, vegetable oil, egg and milk with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and sprinkles.
Pour batter into prepared pan (add a few more sprinkles on top for fun) and bake 15 to 20 minutes or until edges are lightly brown and center feels pretty set.
Remove from oven and cool before slicing into bars.
Black sprinkles will turn your batter black, so avoid them!
Happy day!

I found this recipe on Pinterest years ago…I don't think you can call it your own.

Hi Lucia! I'm not calling it my own. I gave credit to Sally for her yummy recipe. I'm trying to find/create my favorite 100 bar recipes. This would be one example of when I find it from someone else. Enjoy!

I didn't see where you called this your own. You CLEARLY have credit to the source. All you did was MIX AND MATCH and that's what you're all about so it makes perfect sense. Not sure why someone is surprised that mix and match mama would MIX AND MATCH…. The horror! Lol. Constructive criticism is one thing maybe to point out a blogger mistake to help her improve, but little "gotcha" comments towards her are silly, especially when one doesn't thoroughly READ the blog post they are criticizing.

This recipe didn't work well for me. The dough did not spread throughout the whole 13 by 9 baking dish and rose so much so it had to cook so much longer. Still look tasty though! Just a warning for someone else trying!

Shay, My batter is very thick and sticky. Is it supposed to be that way or did I maybe do something wrong? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks so much! They look so yummy!

I remember the batter being sticky…I bet the bars will still taste delicious!
