Peppermint Cocoa Krispies Treats

Because, why not?
Cocoa Krispies plus a little peppermint equals a whole lot of yummy.
A few years ago, I made Peppermint Crunch Rice Krispies Treats and they were such a hit that I just switched out the cereal, the type of marshmallows used and hit repeat.  My family loved them!
Simple, festive, quick, delicious, cocoa, Christmas.
Shopping List
3 tablespoons butter
4 cups mini marshmallows
6 cups Cocoa Krispies cereal
1 cup peppermint crunch
Over medium heat, melt butter in sauce pan.  Add in marshmallows, stirring until melted.  Pour over cereal.  Stir in the peppermint crunch.  Mix well and then spread in a greased 8×8 baking dish.  (Spray a spatula with Pam and press it over the top to get the cereal to stay put in the baking dish.)
Cut into squares and enjoy!
I also made these for my girlfriends and they really liked them too!  So quick and easy…perfect for the holiday season.
And if you’re looking for peppermint crunch, you will find it on the chocolate chip aisle in a bag that looks like this…
You could crush up a few candy canes instead if you can’t locate the crunch :).

So do you use chocolate rice krispies or chocolate marshmallows to get the cocoa part?
Thanks! I can't wait to try these.
