Happy Thursday friends. It’s just life lately around here…
…on Good Friday, we enjoyed lunch with Andrew and the nice weather. There’s a “selfie spot” on our square, so the kids and I stopped on our way to meet him. I love walking around our town square with my three kiddos!
My little shadow. If Andrew isn’t home, she follows me around by default.
On Friday night, Smith and Nixon went to Luke’s birthday party, so Andrew and I took Ebby Lee, Kensington, Bowen and Ashby to dinner while Tab and Erika went on a date (so basically, everyone’s kids were in other people’s care!). Sweet girls at dinner!
And crazy two year olds at dinner :).
Nixon is such a sweet boy with Ashby! It just makes this mama’s heart so happy to see how sensitive and sweet other kiddos are to our girl. Nixon held her hand to walk up the steps, I snapped this pic and then he held her hand to walk down. So sweet!
Ashby LOVES swinging!!!
Friday night with these six :).
I imagine Bowen is thinking “gosh, I can’t wait until summer” and Ashby is thinking “I wonder what they do with this giant bathtub in the backyard”. Girlfriend is about to find out what goes on back here! (Swim lessons start in two weeks…)
Saturday morning French Toast helpers.
On Saturday night, we had dinner at Benihana’s for Andrew’s birthday. I sat by this guy.
She ate her salad with her chopsticks :).
Smith and Kensington had no problems getting into the spirit of things!
Happy birthday to Andrew!
Ashby wanted in on the selfie :).
Another chopstick kid!
Love this girl!
Such pretty girls! We’re all about Aunt Cat at our house :).
Since we were celebrating Andrew’s birthday, they brought him out a sundae and sang. Ashby was eyeing that cherry on top!
And on Monday when we were leaving the gym, we were waiting to use the ladies’ room when I snapped this pic. I love these two so much! They melt my heart (and their big sister too!).
And oh man…I have a new obsession in life…it’s the candied jalapeno. For lunch today (or supper too!), you should make my Candied Jalapeno Grilled Cheese Sandwich…
…goodness this is good! Seriously…if you haven’t tried a candied jalapeno, you should. And if you have tried one, then you know how good this sandwich must be!! Enjoy!
xoxo

Every time I see Ashby's great big smile, it makes me so happy. What a blessing that little girl is! And if we didn't have four already, I'd want to adopt. You've inspired me so much, throughout the process!

Your family is just so sweet! After your favorite vacation post the other day I had some time so I started looking through posts of your previous vacations and it was such a strange thing not to see Ashby in the pictures! She fits in so well and is so happy with your family that I forget that there was ever a time when she wasn't with you!! She is where she belongs now; she is definitely a Shull!!

I love your life lately posts! Do you typically take your photos with your phone or do you carry around a real camera? Ashby is too cute, love how she is just fitting right in!

Hi my daughter is about Ashby's age& it's still chilly here in the Northeast, but I noticed that my daughters size (2t/ 3t) the dresses don't come with diaper covers. Any suggestions?
Mix and Match Mama says
Sarah, I always take pics with my phone! I think I stopped using my actual camera over two years ago. And for the other comment, both of my girls wear Monkey Bar Buddies under their dresses. You can find them online :).

What style of Ray-Ban's are you wearing in the first pic? Love them! They don't look like traditional aviators?

Hi Shay, I rarely comment, but just wanted to say I LOVE YOUR BLOG! Your posts and those kiddos' smiles just make my day (all the way in Charlotte, NC). Anyway, after you shared your make-up bag, I went out and bought the Urban Decay eye shadow primer and the Laura Gellar bronzer/blush. Quite honestly, I don't know what my life was like before these two things. Love them both and so appreciate you sharing them with your readers. Anyway, I was in Ulta yesterday and learned that the Sin primer has been discontinued. I picked up one while I was there but was told when it's gone, it's gone. Just thought I'd let you know if you case you wanted to get one before they're gone. Have a great day!

Hi! My mom and I both read your blog (and I'm going to bank on her not reading the comments…) 🙂 She LOVES the shirt you wore for Andrew's birthday. Would love to get it for her for her birthday! Can I ask where you found it?

I feel like a stalker for knowing this, but I think it's here 🙂 http://shullfamily.blogspot.com/2015/04/friday-favorites_10.html

Love this post and the great pics. Was wondering about your pool – noticed that there is no safety gate around it nor a cover on it. While I live in another state is it Texas requirements that pools are gated to keep children safe?
Mix and Match Mama says
We built our house last year and the yard had to be fenced in to get our certificate of occupancy…and our yard is. So the pool is fenced in…just not right next to the pool, it's the entire yard.

I'm also wondering about the shirt you are wearing like the person above. Also I love your neutral colored lipstick! What shade is it please?
Jeanie says
I love the way Ashby's nose crinkles when she smiles. 🙂 Of course, it goes without saying your other two are adorable, too. I can't get over how much Kensington looks like you and Smith looks like Andrew. And I cannot believe I've never heard of candied jalapenos. Must look at my grocery store for them.

Love it! My co-worker is adopting a little boy from China so I regularly forward her your posts–especially when they are about Ashby. They will travel to China in July or August, so your posts have helped her know what to expect!
