‘Tis the season for swim lessons!
Last week, my kiddos had their annual swim lessons with Ms. Sally. Kensington and Smith both started when they were each 2.5, so this year, it was Ashby’s turn to start. After school each day, we ran home, changed clothes and headed to swim.
Blowing bubbles on her first day in the pool. The first day was Ashby’s favorite…because at this point, she didn’t know she had to go four days in a row :). Sally and her daughter took turns between the big kids and Ashby. The big kids worked on their strokes and such while Ashby learned the basics of swimming.
Going across the water with Ms. Sally.
Sweet smile!
I love to see how far my older kiddos have come with swim lessons!
Love this girl 🙂
Jumping off the side with Ms. Sally.
On day two, they told me they wanted to eat their pre-swim snack in the bed of daddy’s truck…sure, why not?
Silly faces!
Love this boy!
Pre-swim selfie at Ms. Sally’s! Love this girl too!
Under the water swimming from Ms. Sally to the step. Go Ashby!
By day two, Ashby realized that she was going to have to actually learn to swim and that we were going to go several days in a row. On day two, she cried the first 10 minutes before shaking it off and having fun.
On Day three, she cried the first 10 minutes again, but would smile really big every time she swam a little.
Day four was our last day. I love these three so much!
Look at my girl go! Swimming just a little from Sally’s daughter to the step.
She was all smiles and very proud of her accomplishments!
Another year, another batch of swim lessons over. Now, we just need to practice at home. Hurry up summer! The Shulls are waiting for you!
If you need a quick bite or two for Mother’s Day this weekend, I have a suggested menu on my foodie blog today…
…special little nibbles that your mama will enjoy!
Happy Wednesday!

GO ASHBY! That was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Carter did his first year. I had to flipping hide in the garage so 1) he couldn't see me, and 2) so I could drown out his cries! I did a lot of praying during swim lessons that first year! 🙂

Woo hoo! Ashby is catching on quite quickly! Swim lessons are a MUST. (A friend of ours had a terrible tragedy so I am all about lessons. You can never be too safe.) Your kids are so lucky to have a mom like you! Happy early Mother's Day!

It's so great that you teach your kids to swim so early! Such a valuable lesson to learn that will keep them safe and also help them LOVE those hot Texas summers spent in the pool! Those were my favorite times of the year as a kiddo!

I have been reading your blog for a while now and instantly thought of you when this happened. So I have been stuck in an airport all day, getting kind of grumpy when I bought a diet coke without paying attention. It has your name all over it… Share a coke with Shay. It made my day, so I thought I would share.
