Today, Smith graduates from preschool (insert me sobbing here). His school has a graduation ceremony for all of the Pre-K kids and then a little party afterwards. I read this quote this week and it really spoke volumes to me…
I’ve been pretty much doing the exact same thing every single day for almost seven years, and yet my life is so much different than it was seven years ago. All of a sudden, these little people that I’ve been taking care of all day, every day are big and in school. My kiddos are growing up and it excites me and terrifies me at the same time.
Andrew and Smith went hunting for a few days, so it was just girl time at the Shull house. On this particular night, it was way past Kensington’s bedtime, but we were staying up late, eating brownies in my bed and watching the Disney Channel. I blame this behavior on all of the Gilmore Girls episodes I’ve been watching lately. #whatwouldloreleido
This is Ashby’s “cheese” face :).
Walking to pick up Kensington from school with my middle and little. The weather was just gorgeous on this particular day, so we stayed and played at the park for an hour after school.
There is always a pile of blocks on the floor at our house. Someone is always building something :).
On Tuesday morning, we arrived at the children’s hospital at 7:00 for Ashby’s MRI. She was such a trooper! Other than asking for a drink about 80 times (bless her heart!), she didn’t fuss one bit.
Watching Mickey Mouse while we waited to go back.
We also killed time by making faces in selfies…
Happy Face
Silly Face
Sad Face
Surprised Face
Kissy Face
At 9:00, I carried her back to the MRI room and placed her on the table. They let me hold her hand while they put her to sleep. Once she was asleep, I gave her a big kiss on the forehead and went out to wait.
I brought along my favorite things to keep me company during the 1.5 hour wait…Starbucks, Gilmore Girls, a magazine and a book.
They brought her back to us already awake, we got her dressed and were home by 11:30. We go back in two weeks to discuss the results with her doctor.
Later that afternoon, I took these girlies to their costume fittings for their dance recital. They are IN LOVE with their new ballet costumes. That being said, I’m going to be picking glitter off of us for the next month (so.much.glitter.everywhere).
That’s life lately.
For dinner tonight…
xoxo

Ha! Apparently we were both have sentimental moments when we blogged today. I was feeling the same way!! Someone should start a rid-your-house-of-glitter service. Today I'd sign up. 🙂

Oh my goodness! I remember how exciting it was to get new dance costumes! But nobody was more excited than Conner…she wore my old dance costumes as clothes for like 3 years straight! Ashby's cheese face is precious!

I love this post, especially the selfies to kill time, so cute. I'm a long time GG fanatic! I've been watching since it was on in the beginning. I still watch it every night before bed because I like to go to bed happy. 🙂 This may make me sound a little crazy but I know exactly what's happening in that screen shot you have of Lorelei! She's talking to Rory saying the crisis has passed and she ate junk food so all is good. Haha. If you ever need to talk about GG, I'm your girl! 😉 Best show ever!

So glad the MRI is over for you all. Such sweet ballerinas!

Hey Shay! I love your blog and I think your family is precious! Could you possibly do a post on what you think about Gilmore Girls?! I absolutely ADORE the show (watching it right now actually 🙂 ) and would love to know what guy you like best for Rory & Lorelai and where you think they should have ended up!!

So happy you had a good experience with the MRI. My almost 6 year old had one last year and it was a nightmare. Did Ashby not have an IV? That was the worst part for us………boo Kensington looked beautiful in her costume ~ love dance recitals! Have a blessed rest of your day!

I am shedding tears today too. Only my baby is graduating from his early college program tonight. So when he graduates from high school next week, he will already possess an Associates degree. I am so proud of him and his hard work. Time does fly. Interested to hear what the doctors will say about Ashby.

My son's preschool graduation is next week! I've only been crying about him going to kindergarten for the past year! Lol!

My son graduates from preschool at the end of May. I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday we were holding his hand, walking him into his first day there. Isn't it crazy how it all happens so fast? I know exactly how you are feeling. I only have one child but it's just as emotional.
Thanks for keepin' it real!

It's amazing to see what God is doing with his children and to see how sweet Ashby is in loving arms of her mama blesses my heart! It gives me hope for our "gotcha" day with our little! Can't wait!!! You should ask Andrew to do a guest blog one day about his mission trip to Africa. I went to Africa right out of high school for a few months to work at an orphanage and it was so amazing (and about every other emotion you could have). God did some pretty incredible things during my trip – would love to hear about Andrews experience. ♡

If you spray the skirt/tutu with hair spray (like Aqua Net) until it's dripping wet, then let it air dry. This will help with all the sparkles falling off.

Have you seen https://shipyourenemiesglitter.com/?? BRILLIANT, I tell ya! But you gotta hate someone a LOT to inflict that sort of torture. The moment I saw it I immediately thought of your bro-in-law. He would DIE. 🙂 Prayers for you while you wait for Ashby's results. xx
