We’re banana pudding obsessed and pie obsessed…so I combined the two and made a Banana Cream Pie…with a Nilla Wafer crust (don’t worry, it’s super easy!). This pie will rock your world. Rock. Your. World.
This recipe makes one pie.
Shopping List
about 1 1/2 cups of crushed Nilla Wafers (about 20 or so)
6 tablespoons of melted butter
1 (3 oz) box of instant vanilla pudding
1 (14 oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
1 cup of milk
1 cup whipped topping (I used Cool Whip), plus more for garnish
2 bananas, sliced
1 cup of milk
1 cup whipped topping (I used Cool Whip), plus more for garnish
2 bananas, sliced
To make the crust:
Crumble your Nilla Wafers directly over your food processor. Pulse the crumbled cookies until they are fine. Add in your melted butter and pulse until it’s all combined. Remove the mixture and pat it inside the pie plate. Make sure you pat it up the sides as well as across the bottom. Freeze about one hour before filling.
To make the filling:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk your dry vanilla pudding mix, condensed milk and milk about two minutes. Whisk in your Cool Whip until just combined.
Remove your crust from the freezer and lay sliced bananas across the bottom. Next, pour the vanilla pudding mixture down over the top.
Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours up to 2 days.
Remove from fridge and garnish with a little more whipped topping and serve.
This is a killer banana cream pie…and simple enough that even your kiddos can make it!
Enjoy!
