Blackberries reign supreme over at the Shull house. We love all berries, but blackberries are by far our favorite. This crumbly bar was hard to stay out of. Little bites of buttery goodness and fresh blackberries…so good! I actually had my bar with coffee for breakfast. Breakfast, dessert…whenever you enjoy a piece, you’ll love it!
Shopping List
1 box yellow cake mix
3/4 cup butter, melted
3 cups quick-cooking oats, uncooked
2 cups of fresh blackberries
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease (I use Pam) a 9×13 baking dish.
In a mixing bowl combine cake mix, butter, and oats tossing until crumbly. Spread 2/3 of oats mixture across the bottom of baking dish. Pat oats mixture down to form a “crust” layer.
Drop your blackberries down over the crust mixture. Don’t worry if they don’t completely cover your pan, they’re just fine!
Crumble the remaining 1/3 of your oats mixture over the top of the blackberries.
Bake about 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool at least 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
I’m telling you…these bars are just so good! And bonus? Blackberries not the favorite at your house? Then substitute with whatever berry you love.
