Thank you so much for your prayers and sweet thoughts yesterday. Ashby’s MRI went very well. It was a long day and unfortunately, this time, the anesthesia made her sick, but we all survived and made it home right before 7:00 PM. Thanks again for your love :).
I had several of you email me this article that went viral over the weekend about this Canadian teen with a rare disorder that makes one leg larger than the other. Listen, I want to give this girl a huge hug. I love her confidence! I love her attitude! I love everything about her. What an inspiring young lady. My prayer is that all of my children have the confidence she does. God makes us all different and all beautiful.
I love two things in this picture.
1. My nails are OPI Alpine Snow which is my favorite white. If you ever just want a fresh, clean white…Alpine Snow is your winner. Anddddd….
2. Am I the only one who uses Evian spray??? Okay…I started buying this years ago for flights but now I use it daily. It’s the oddest, weirdest thing…but really, you should just read the reviews. I was buying me another couple of bottles this week when I saw the reviews online…and they’re so insanely good that it’s almost funny. Read them here.
Here’s when I use it…
1. I keep it on flights with me and spray my face several times. It keeps your face from getting all dried out and icky feeling. Plus, if you nap on a flight, it really freshens you back up and makes your makeup look better. Yes…spraying your face with this water makes your makeup look better. So weird but so true (don’t believe me…read the reviews).
2. I read in one of my French books (you know how I love my French books) that French women spray their faces with it after washing and before moisturizing to reduce pores and make their skin smoother for moisturizer and makeup (so I do that too).
3. Also in said French book, it said to spray at night after washing and before moisturizing so that your face is hydrated during the night.
4. After I apply my makeup or during the day when I want my makeup to look a little better. Yup, spraying your face actually sets your makeup. Or…if it’s mid-day or early evening and you just want to refresh your makeup, you just spray your face and it instantly revs up your makeup. Crazy, I know. I’m not the only crazy person though…read the reviews :).
Listen, it’s this silly magical water stuff…but it’s really crazy good!
We’ve been making a lot of homemade ice cream lately. I think I said this earlier in the week…but we used to use a manual maker but that was so much work that finally (after 11 years!), we bought an electric counter maker and that has been life changing :). We bought this exact Oster maker which is very inexpensive for electric ice cream makers but has worked beautifully!
In 30 minutes, our ice cream is completely finished and the parts are dishwasher safe. Amen.
You should make my Coconut Monkey Bread for breakfast this weekend. This yummy treat is super simple to pull together and so stinkin’ good!

I honestly didn't notice the young girl's leg when I first saw the picture and read the caption. Your comment about it made me go back and look, and then I had to look twice. I pray God always helps me to see a person for who they are and not what they look like; and I hope this young lady always sees her worth and beauty in the way God made her.

You should try rose water. I purchased this one off of Amazon and poured a little bit into a travel sized squirt bottle. We keep it in the refrigerator and spray our faces every morning and night (and sometimes throughout the day because it's so refreshing in this heat!). It smells amazing, and rose water is supposed to help with skin complexion.

I've never tried homemade ice cream. Never! Where have I been? I didnt realize the maker was so cheap and ice cream was easy to make….I may need to get it! Also, I need those Frye "Melissa" boots and that Tory Burch bag!

I love Evian spray!! I have no idea how it works but it works! Also, thanks for the ice cream maker suggestion. My dad loves making homemade ice cream and the manual one is SO much work. This may be the perfect Christmas gift for him. How much ice cream can you make at one time? It is enough for just a few people or could you use it a family get together?

So, Shay, this is a bit of a weird comment today, just to warn you!
I know you and Sheaffer rave about the Hanky Panky thongs. I am SO not a thong person (you can read about that here: http://thebusybrunette.blogspot.com/2015/04/my-hatehate-relationship-with-thong.html).
Are these thongs really that good? Even for a non-thong wearer like me? I guess I just don't understand why anyone would wear a thong if you didn't have to… especially now that there are other options to eliminate visible panty lines. I'm on the fence about ordering a pair to try, but they're not the cheapest. I don't mind buying them if they're really, really great — I just can't see myself switching over to thongs. Should I try?

I had to laugh at the Evian spray! I had forgotten all about this until you mentioned it. Thirteen years ago, on our wedding night, my husband surprised me with a hotel stay at The Ritz in Chicago. I had never even heard of The Ritz until that night. We stayed in the presidential suite and it was the perfect place to begin our marriage. The bar area in our room was stocked FULL of goodies. We were giddie about it; from soda and water to all kinds of snacks and fancy candy, and also a can of the Evian spray. We had a day to spend walking around Chicago before flying out for Jamaica, so we packed a backpack full of the "free" goodies (or so we thought) and took them with us on our sightseeing adventures around Chicago. I thought the Evian spray was so awesome and loved the refreshing feel of it on my face, especially once we got to the beach in Jamaica. However, we later learned that the Evian spray and all the other fabulous goods from the bar were actually not "free." We received a bill of over $100.00 just for the items from the bar, which didn't even include alcohol. We had to laugh at ourselves! Obviously, we had never stayed in such a nice hotel and in our innocence, assumed that because the cost of the hotel was so much, that the goodies were included too! Funny memory and had to share since the Evian spray reminded me of it=)

Great favorites. Love love facial mists! they're so refreshing and hydrating and even luxurious. Another good one is the Avene Thermal Spring Water.
