Oh my goodness!
Our July 4th has turned into such a fun holiday that it needed its own post.
We packed it in on Saturday…parade, pool, fireworks…we did it all :).
The Shull five (now six if we count the American Girl doll who is going everywhere with us) woke up early and headed to our historic town square for the annual parade. It was so much fun to be on the square with our friends. Everywhere you turned, you saw people you knew and loved.
Andrea brought donuts this year…my kiddos were all over that!
Lining up and waiting for the fun to begin!
I just love my little family.
Speaking of love…these two are just the sweetest friends. Ashby talks about Bowen non-stop. And as soon as he walked up on this morning, they threw their arms around each other :).
xoxo
I love my sweet friends :).
The girls scored rings from someone passing by. They were a huge hit!
Ready and waiting!
An attempt at a group picture…anyone seen Nixon???
The parade begins!
13 years ago today, I went to my parents’ house for July 4th and as I opened the door from their garage into their house, this 6’5″ guy was on the other side walking out of a room. I had no idea that at that very moment, I was opening the door to the rest of my life. Love this man so much.
It’s fun to celebrate being an American :).
So, after the parade, my family grabbed a bite to eat for lunch and then drove an hour to my aunt and uncle’s house for a family swim party and supper…
…nothing like swimming on the Fourth of July!
Aunt Catherine, Kensington and Cupcake.
C & Me 🙂
Sometimes, you need a little help with your popsicle.
We always, always, always play water volleyball. I was on baby duty, so I didn’t play this time…instead I got to take pictures of the madness.
I had the best little assistant with my baby duty :).
It’s a girl, girl world in our family!
It’s totally convenient to play water volleyball while holding your 3 year old niece at the same time.
When you have two sisters and two girl cousins, you have no choice but to take your lonely Spider-man and play with it and the Frozen characters…
Well, we ate dinner on their patio and then drove the hour back to McKinney. We bathed the kiddos and got them back into the car for the McKinney fireworks…
…All American & Awesome. Yes and yes.
We sat in the dark out in a field with friends and watched the fireworks. Andrea brought glow sticks that kept us entertained.
Everyone was in their pjs in the back of Andrew’s truck and we watched together.
I mean…such a fun, fun, fun day! Food, family, friends, fireworks…it just doesn’t get better than that!
Speaking of things that are really good…
…my Greek Yogurt Pops are hard to beat! I made Peanut Butter with Chocolate Chips and Toasted Coconut Greek Yogurt Pops…your kiddos will get a little protein with their homemade popsicle. Really, really good!
And don’t forget, if you’re praying with me this month, the prayer request post can be found here.
xoxo

Thank you so much for the post on prayers this month. It is such a beautiful thing to have friends from around the world, whose only thing in common is reading your blog, praying for each other. What a wonderful way to use your blog to give people an extra reason to be in touch with God.

I love this post every year! I swear y'all should do a commercial for living in McKinney or something! Everyone is too stinking cute! I've gotta ask, where is Ashby's romper from? I've been looking for something like that for my youngest for next summer! (Yes, I'm one of those annoying moms who buys almost everything for her kids a year in advance!)

Where did you get the girl's cute pjs from? Also, how do you keep their Natives so clean looking (the white part)??? Thank you!
Mix and Match Mama says
They're from Gymboree :). And I bet if you saw them in person, you wouldn't think they're super white. When they do get extra dirty, I use a Magic Eraser on them!

Thank you 🙂
