Bar #99, Bar #99, Bar #99!
I mean…some people have serious goals in life…but over the last four years, mine have consisted of things like making 100 versions of the same bundt cake and finding or creating the best 100 bars using a cake mix as the base. I’m thinking I should be up for some sort of nationally recognized award, right?

So, two years ago, I asked my girlfriend Rachel (the one who gave me the recipe for the Original Bundt Cake) to pick my very first bar recipe for my 100 and she gave me this one. And then, I proceeded to show you guys 98 more that I love. In honor of that first bar, I did what I’m all about…I mixed and matched it :).
Bar #99 is just a tweak on the original.
Stay tuned this week…in honor of my 100th Bar next Monday (the 17th!), I’m hosting a HUGE giveaway!! Stay tuned!!
And now, this is how you make one of these yummy Golden Oreo Bars…
Shopping List
1 box white cake mix
1 1/2 sticks of butter, melted and divided (read below)
2 eggs
1 (8 oz) package of cream cheese, at room temp
4 cups of powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 (8 oz) tub of Cool Whip
10 to 12 Golden Oreo cookies, chopped
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Spray (I use Pam) a 9×13″ baking dish.
In a large bowl, add cake mix, 1 egg, and one stick of your melted butter and stir with a spoon until combined. Spread cake mixture across the bottom of your baking dish.
Using a hand mixer and another clean bowl, mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Divide the cream cheese mixture into two bowls.
In your first bowl, beat in your second egg, the remaining 1/2 stick of melted butter and cocoa powder. Spread this cream cheese mixture over your cake mixture in your baking dish. Smooth it out across the top.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Do not over-bake. This should be gooey in the center!
Allow your cake to cool, and while it’s cooling, add half of your chopped Golden Oreos to your remaining bowl of cream cheese mixture along with your Cool Whip. Spread that over your cooled bars and then sprinkle your remaining Golden Oreo pieces on top. Let everything chill in the fridge at least one hour before slicing and serving.
I mean…99 Bars down and only 1 to go :).

I am actually really sad the bars are almost done! This one sounds super yummy! My favorites have been the s'mores and the pineapple. I think you should do 100 trifles next!
