Friday Favorites: So much good stuff (even a little giveaway!)!!


Happy Friday friends!
I am super excited about this Friday because I have loads of great (and totally random) favorites.  I’m linking up with my favorite girls Narci, Andrea and Erika to share them with you.
And bonus…I’m even doing a little giveaway too.  It’s Friday…let’s have fun :).

So, when I did my TV Binge Watching post a few months ago, the two shows you guys recommended the most for me were Gilmore Girls and Friday Night Lights.  Well, we all know that Gilmore Girls became my entire world.  At one point, I found myself waking up at 3:30 AM to watch two episodes before I started my day.  YES!  What the heck is wrong with me?!?!  I could not stop watching that show.  So freaking good!  
So…the next show I started was Friday Night Lights and friends, it’s awesome.  Maybe it’s because I’m a Texas girl or maybe it’s because I now have a major crush on both Coach Taylor and Tim Riggins…but either way, I’m obsessed and have already blown through season one and am heading into season two.  If you haven’t watched it, WATCH IT!

This is me from last September.  I bought this scarf last August and it sold out in a hot minute and then never restocked…and well, it’s back right now!  Woohoo!  I love this scarf because it’s incredibly light, yet looks fallish.  So, this is just what you need on those September and October days when it’s not cold but you want something “fall” to wear.  Bonus, it’s only $18.  It’s going to sell out quickly, so make sure you grab it while you can!
(Also, my booties are from last year…but this year, they have these in stock and I really like them too!  They’re very comfy!)
I bought Essie’s new “gel-setter” top coat at Target the other day and I really love it!  You just apply the top coat over any polish and it’s supposed to make your polish last much longer and keep your nails shiny.  I painted my nails last Friday and I think they still look great today.  

My color is Bahama Mama and then the other bottle is the gel top coat.  So far, I’m a big fan!

Do you guys like sausage, peppers and onions?  You know that yummy traditional Italian dish?  I’m a big fan…so I made it the other night and turned it into a taco.  Yummy!  To see my recipe, click here.

You guys…my friend Cassie is on the cover of Redbook this month!  What?!  Yesssss!  I am so proud of her and happy for her!  Isn’t she so cute?!?!  (They’re all so cute!)
I mean…how cool is this?!?  Love you Cassie!!

A few of my favorite things.
So, Sheaffer came over the other day and was standing in my closet when she saw my fresh batch of Bath and Body Works pumpkin scented everything pile. #shelaughedreallyhard
  Listen, I have no shame.  When Bath and Body Works releases their pumpkin and fall scents, I get realllllly excited and totally over-buy candles and lotion.  If you’re like me, then get excited because it’s out now in stores and online. 

And last but certainly not least…Nordstrom asked if I wanted to do a little giveaway and talk back to school clothes and shoes with you ladies and considering that I had already purchased both of my big kids new shoes from Nordstrom (and I’m always up for giving you guys stuff!), I said heck yeah!
‘Tis the season for back to school!
 Ashby will wear her Uggs this season, Smith got these shoes and Kensington wore out her Sam Edelman flats last year, so she got a new pair this year (they’re her very favorite shoes to wear!).  And Kensington’s super cute dress can be found here.

Speaking of super cute dresses…how cute is this one?!  I originally bought it for school but when Kensington asked if she could wear it on the flight to Switzerland, I couldn’t refuse.  The leggings are from Boden.

    Honestly, back to school time is always tough for me as a mom of 2 boys and a teacher…but I do love getting a fresh start each fall and getting back into a routine. It's exhausting though and I'm always kind of glad when September is done!

    I bought the Essie Gel top coat recently also and it does work good. It's def not like a real gel polish but works better than most others. I'm a big fan of the seche vite base and top coats.     It's been a long time since I've been in school and I have no kids to shop for, but I absolutely love school supplies! I still walk the isles and have to buy something! However, my favorite thing about fall is football!!! I love football Friday nights and all day Saturday college football (esp. the SEC – Geaux Tigers!), but watch it just about any time I can!!! In fact, my love for football, is one of the first things that attracted my husband to me!

    My favorite places to shop for shoes is Nordstroms or Dillard's because they offer a great variety for people of all ages. Tory Burch has the cutest booties and I'm looking at purchasing a pair so I can walk to class stylish!! You should get Ashby and Kensington a pair of the UGG moccasins for winter! Love them and they are super cute for indoor and outdoor wear!

    I usually do Yankee Candle for my fall scents, but I will have to check out Bath and Body Works! I love all the school supplies for back to school, the actual supplies and buying a new "back to school" outfit and shoes…and the fact that it is almost fall!

    I have also used the Essie gel setter and I LOVE it! I have found that if you use a base coat it stays on for approximately 5-7 days which is impressive!! Totally going to get that color too!!

    My son isn't old enough for school yet but I plan on carrying on a tradition that my Nana had for us before my siblings and I went back to school. She was the caregiver for the summer while both our parents worked so she used to have an ice cream cake the night before the first day of school to celebrate us going back to school. It was a funny and fun tradition that we all enjoyed!

    My favorite part is the fall stuff (since I'm no longer in school and don't have kids yet)! I started watching FNL a few years ago, but I guess forgot about it. We just started it over, and I'm still on season 1 in episodes I already saw the first time around so I'm dying to get to the new ones! I love it though. Matt Saracen and Julie Taylor are my favorite couple of all time, I've decided. 🙂

    As a teacher and mom, my back to school is my New Year! I think more about goals and resolutions at this time than I do in January! I also still buy academic year planners! So I love the fresh supplies, fresh calendar, school clothes and shoes, and just that sense that this year can be better than last year!
