Hey there Thursday!
We’re so happy to see you :).
Well, today’s post is shorter than normal because…that darn stomach bug got me too.
Boohoo!
I slept through Monday and didn’t fully feel like myself until later in the week…so, I wasn’t taking many pictures…I was surviving. Here’s what I caught on the days when I felt great…
It’s fall ball around here! The little man is back doing his thing :).
And these two are the boys’ biggest cheerleaders :).
It was raining and yucky all day Saturday, so we headed to our favorite diner for lunch. After that, we watched football all day. It was kind of the perfect Saturday :).
On Sunday afternoon, these three came downstairs after church giggling because they had put on their matching pajamas. If you recall, I bought them back in January for the first night we had Ashby…
…I’d say a lot has changed in 8.5 months, right? Out of the three kiddos, Smith has physically grown the most…his pajamas were way too small on him. It’s pretty cool to see how God has opened up Ashby and turned two complete strangers into her favorite people…her big brother and big sister.
My friend Meagan took this picture on Monday night as Ashby was cheering on Smith during his baseball game. After the game she was talking 90 mph about how you hit the ball and run, run, run. This girl might be our softball player!
I made dinner for my peeps before heading out to my friend Jeni’s house for dinner one night. Everyone is all smiles with meatballs :).
Last year for her birthday, Kensington received this kid mixer where you can make up little brownies and such and then they set in the fridge. Well, anytime she has the opportunity, she makes a batch :). We buy the refills off of Amazon. This is a girl after my own heart.
On Wednesday morning, I had a speaking engagement a mile from my parents’ house, so my mom watched Ashby for an hour and then we all met up with my Grandmother for lunch and shopping. It was such a nice day! The four of us never get to hang out together on a random Wednesday, so it was really special.
That’s about it! Life lately has been pretty routine. School, homework, dance, baseball, dinner, cuddles and bed (with a stomach bug or two thrown in for good measure). I don’t mind though. I enjoy this routine…one of these days, I’m going to miss it :).
And speaking of meatballs…for dinner tonight, your family should have this…
…my Meatball Subs! Oh goodness, these are so good!
xo

To be honest, what'd we do before Ashby? Ebby Lee had no one to fawn over? Bowen had to be bored out of his mind! Did he have any friends? Hahaha!!! So glad God knew that girl was needed asap!

I'm so sorry the stomach bug got you as well! I especially like the pajama photos you posted – it is amazing to see how much things can change in such a short time! Everyone looks so happy.

I hope you get to feeling better! I agree that it's crazy how things have changed in the pj picture, even the facial expressions! I'm trying some of your recipes for the first time this week and wrote about them today {I'm a cooking newbie!}. I hope it goes over as well for me as you make them look!

That pajama pic in China gets me every single time. I just wish little Ashby could have known that she didn't have to be scared! Love the new pic and the joy radiating from her face!

Love those PJ's! Such a sweet idea to bring Ashby home to 🙂 Super random question: How do you store all of your nail polish's? I have a TON (and assume you do as well) but mine are just thrown in an old over-sized make up bag that makes me dig through each time. Do you have any better ideas?
giginpink says
This question wasn't directed to me, but thought I would offer a couple of options for storage of fingernail polish. I have used a shoe box sized plastic box with a flip top lid, but a removable lid would work as well. This keeps the bottles upright and allows space for other manicure tools. Another option is small plastic flatware containers for drawers. I like the ones that are not solid so you can see the colors. It you have a lot of colors, you can sort your colors into different containers. I'm pretty sure I found these at Wal Mart in the kitchen section. Just my two cents worth!
The differences in your kids from January to now is A-mazing! Ashby has just blossomed! What an example of love! Do hope you are feeling better and no more bugs infect your home!

The pic of Ashby cheering on Smith at his ball game is the sweetest thing ever. It made me tear up to think how special it is that she has such a loving family now.

Do you happen to have a link where I could purchase that mixer for my daughter?! That would make a great Christmas gift for her!
Mix and Match Mama says
You can get it off of Amazon! It's called the Cool Baker-Magic Mixer Maker :).

So what's Andrew eating in the giant bowl with his meatballs? That's a pretty big bown, ha ha!
Mix and Match Mama says
Haha! It's a salad. I mixed it up in that bowl and then dished it out to everyone else…he got lazy and just ate his portion from that bowl instead of getting a salad plate. The giant cup has Sonic ice in it. He has a Sonic next door to his office and gets a cup of ice every day for water. He does look like he's eating and drinking out of giant dishes in this pic!

Oh my goodness, that kiddie mixer is just too cute. And I love their matching pajamas. So sweet! <3

Hi there, I have never commented before but I do enjoy reading your blog! I especially enjoy your recipes and daily meal ideas. I am wondering, have your kids ever been picky eaters? How have you encouraged them to try all of your wonderful dishes?
