Today, we’re all linking up with Andrea and sharing our final Show & Tell Tuesday for the year. I have loved this series and am really hoping she continues it in 2016! (Hint, hint Andrea!)
Today’s topic is…
What’s the best gift we’ve received?
Um, I couldn’t decide whether to take this very seriously or be light…eeks! So…I decided to be both.
Let’s be honest, the BEST gift I’ve ever received is the grace that comes from having a relationship with Jesus Christ. This time of year can be full of Santa, elves, lights, trees, carols and gifts…but the best gift is that of Jesus. He came to Earth as a baby, lived a life free of sin, died on the cross for our sins and then rose again three days later. The best gift I’ve received is salvation from having a personal relationship with Him.
If you don’t know Jesus and would like to know more about Him, I’d be happy to answer your questions and/or point you in the right direction. Feel free to email me at mixandmatchmama@yahoo.com. I did a post earlier this year called Finding Faith and you can read that here. It includes some great books to read about faith as well.
So, the best gift I’ve received is having a relationship with Jesus…but if we’re talking about lighter things…then my best gift is a dog :).
When we were in elementary school, my mom surprised my dad, Sean and me with a cocker spaniel puppy that we named Hannah. We loved this dog and she was a part of our family until I was 22 years old. I don’t have a picture of her…boo, but take my word for it, she was super cute and it was so much fun receiving a puppy on Christmas morning! It was very Lady and the Tramp…
I mean…it’s hard to top a dog as a gift, right? Hannah wins :).
So, what was your best gift??? I bet you girls have some good ones! Comment below and share!!
So, that’s it for Show & Tell Tuesday 2015!

Sweet Shay, thanks for using this platform to so unashamedly share your faith. In a world of political correctness and fear of offending, you are such a refreshing change. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

My son. He was due on Christmas Day 17 years ago and arrived on December 21st. We brought him home on Christmas Day wrapped in a Christmas blanket. God doesn't give you a better present in my opinion. Have a Merry Christmas! :0)

Shay- we are kindred spirits! My brother and I grew up with a cocker spaniel too and I don't think there's a cuter dog in the world. Skipper is long gone now but thanks to him my parents are now onto their third Cocker during their 6th decade of life. What joy a dog brings to a family!

Awww we had a cocker spaniel growing up too. His name was tramp, super original. Ha!!

I got a pony and cart! When we got off the bus, we headed to the barn, hitched Coco up, and rode all over the farm!!

I wrote about how my best gift was a broken heart… weird, I know.. but it caused a big change in my life that made me move from my small hometown to the big city… where I met my husband and was then gifted his love and my beautiful babies. One of those "this is how my life is meant to be" moments that you only realize in hindsight. 🙂

What is a good book to read about faith and finding and loving yourself ? I love your blogs btw!! 🙂

I thought for sure you were going to say Ashby! 🙂 but after all Jesus had his part in bringing her to you!

Jesus #1
Surprised you didn't mention Ashby!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Ahhh! Well, of course, all three of my kids are blessings! That being said, none of them arrived on Christmas, so I didn't think they counted :). We got Ashby January 4 and Smith on January 18, so they're my January blessings and then Kensington is my September blessing.

Excited for your cookbook! It says that you are the #1 New Release in Tribal and Ethnic Religious Practices….Is this a mistake?
