It’s Day 2 of our Disney Cruise with the Slaughters!
My plan is to show you so many pictures that you feel like you went with us :).
If you missed my Day 1 post yesterday, click here to see it.
Several of you asked about specifics (the youth activities, cabins, shows, etc), I’m going to include all of that in the last post. So, stay tuned!
So, Day 2 brought us to the Bahamas where we hopped off the boat and spent our day at the Atlantis Resort. Um…FABULOUS! When we asked the kids what their favorite day was, they all agreed, it was this day! Nothing says fun like going down water slides over and over again :). (And they really enjoyed watching their mamas go down too! Erika and I screamed the whole way down each slide!)
So, here we are on Day 2!
We all ate breakfast together and then let the kids play on the top deck while we waited to get off the ship at 9:30. Love these friends of mine!
A little morning fun with these two girls :).
The boys had fun too!
Here we are in line to exit the ship. These girls were PUMPED!
We took a five minute shuttle ride to the Atlantis and I got to sit between these two cuties.
These four were behind us.
We’re here!!!!! Eeeeeeks! Everyone was so excited!!!
These two dudes were pretty pumped to be there too!
And so were we!!!
Okay…so, at this point, we put our valuables in a locker so we could run around the pools and slide without having to watch our stuff…so, I don’t have any pictures. Boo. Atlantis had a great kid area where the kids played and played and played for several hours while we watched and then, after lunch, we all headed out to slide all of their famous (and scary!) slides. It was so much fun!! At one point, we all did the lazy river together…but by the end, we had renamed it the crazy river. The rapids were fast and furious (and fun!). It was such a good day!
Group picture on our way out. Can you tell which kid really didn’t want to leave? Ashby wanted to move to the Atlantis Resort pool area. Forever.
After we returned the ship, we got cleaned up for dinner.
Sitting next to my big girl at dinner!
And sitting next to him too :).
Our wonderful waiter came around and made everyone napkin hats. Ashby got a big bow for the occasion!
Group selfie before heading off to see the show!
So that was Day Two :).
Don’t forget, you can check out Erika’s post here to see her pics from Day Two as well! And to see Day 3’s post at Castaway Cay, click here.
Dinner tonight…
You’re going to need to see this recipe! Yum-my!

Another awesome post Shay; can you find out where Erika got her coral top? The one in the pic before dinner? She has the turquoise Kendra Scott necklace on with it. I love it! Thank you 🙂 P.S We LOVED Atlantis when we were there to- perfect family destination 🙂

Dianna says
Aren't you missing a kid in the group picture?
Mix and Match Mama says
Haha! I think he was tucked back behind everyone. Don't worry, we brought him back on the ship too :).
Karen At Home says
Looks like y'all had so much fun!! I am loving your trip recaps, I think we are going to need a Disney Cruise in our life 🙂
Megan says
Sooooo FUN!!! I'm loving the recaps! I'm ready to book now! Ha. Although sounds like we would have more fun if the kids were a tad older!
Elizabeth Birenbaum says
LOVING all of these pictures!! You're TOTALLY giving me flashbacks to my cruise in October, though we were on the Wonder. They look so similar! Atlantis looks and sounds amazing!
Life with Team Morris says
Looks like so much fun! I'm getting vacation fever!
sajero2 says
Are you wearing self-tanner? Just curious because you look so dark but I thought you didn't get real sun due to your skin cancer scares?
Mix and Match Mama says
I am! Sun tanner and SPF 40 are my jam :).
sajero2 says
Do you mind saying what brand? Because it looks so real! How often do you apply?
Crystal Chilek says
So cute! Where is Ashby's yellow dress from? 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
It's from Mini Boden!
Ibtaryn says
Would you mind sharing where Ashby's yellow dress is from?
Mix and Match Mama says
It's from Mini Boden!
The Mahan Clan says
We're all the kids able to go on the river rides? We are going to the Atlantis with my 6 year old and 3 year old and am curious how much they will be able to do as far as rides. Thanks!!
Mix and Match Mama says
Ashby could ride all of the kid slides and go on the lazy river in a tube. Smith and Kensington could ride a few of the bigger slides but then the really big ones, were for taller kids.
Johnsons says
So fun!! Where is K's swim cover-up from? Thx!
Mix and Match Mama says
I believe Old Navy from last year!
Lindsay at Lindsay'sSweetWorld says
Atlantis is just fabulous! Hubs and I went back before we had kids and we didn't want to leave either! I think I feel a trip coming on…
Leigh (Balancing By Faith) says
I thought Ashby's napkin was a real bow — and thought WOW, you have really gone BIG with the bow here!! So funny – what a great day!
Annalyn says
I have always wondered about Disney Cruises – but have I missed the boat now with my older kids…14, 11, 9, 4, 1 are my kids ages. What would you say? Too old / too young – kind of spread out?
Mix and Match Mama says
Because of the kids club areas, I think your kiddos are actually at great ages. I have many clients who leave their kiddos in the kids areas while they do things (like zip lining) with their big kiddos.
AMla says
What self tanner are you using? I've had a hard time finding a good product. Yours looks very natural 🙂
Mix and Match Mama says
I got a spray tan before this trip :). I'm a fan of St. Tropez though!
Emily Kenney says
I'm going on a cruise soon and thought about getting a spray tan. Did it stay on well despite being in the water?
Mix and Match Mama says
I've been known to throw up on a dock looking at a boat in the water. #truestory So, yes, I get motion sickness. That being said, I've only sailed one time where the water was rough enough to make me sick. We went on a cruise through the Panama Canal and I was sick for days. Other than that, I've never been sick on a cruise ship (they're so big that you really never feel them moving). Now…I have thrown up on at least a dozen tenders though…yuck! I don't take anything. If I get sea sick. ain't nothin' gonna make me feel better. I've tried it all!
Rachel Zimm says
I love these peeks into your vacation!
It looks like everyone had a blast in the Bahamas! 🙂
azmommy says
Where can I get the blue tote Kensington is holding when you got on the boat?
hagerty6 says
We are doing a Disney cruise this summer. Would love more info on restaurants and food on board. Thanks so much!
JenBelzer says
We are going on the Disney Dream to the same destinations this summer! Your posts are making me so excited and I need to start getting a packing list together. Not sure if you have thought about this yet or not but if you have a chance please put together a packing list or tips for Disney Cruises I think that would be great. Also, I love your hats and I think it is a must have for me! But how do you pack them?
Aubrey says
Okay, okay. After years of forcing our kids to tour the best museums, churches, and sights of Europe, they deserve a kid-centric vacay. But not this year. And not Disney. *giggle*
Shaye Dodson says
I know you posted this a while go, but we are going on a Disney Cruise over the holidays & are thinking about doing Atlantis. Did you do the half day or the full day?
Mix and Match Mama says
Full day and it was worth every penny!
